When Mikaela Patterson must take on a client with specific requirements that no single women be allowed on his property, she keeps her broken engagement a secret. She doesn’t realize her client and his sons are mountain lion shifters whose instinct to mate with any available woman turns deadly.

Josh Woods is her client's eldest son, and he is immediately drawn to Mikaela. Knowing his father would never allow an available woman on the property, Josh doesn't understand his fascination with her. Josh and Mikaela fight their attraction because of their own secrets, but when the truth comes out about Mikaela's true availability and Josh's animal instincts, they must be prepared to face the consequences.

Wow! Mandy Harbin nailed it with this lovely short novella. For a short story it had a perfect amount of detail and back story. Not many short novellas have this. Once I started I could not put it down. Awesome characters that feel real they jump off the pages, you feel their pain and happiness. I love the world she built with sexy brothers who are Lion Mountain Shifters but keep to them selves. Their inner cat’s are itching to find an aviable mate that is unattached. This is why the father will only allow woman who are in a relationship in his home.

Mikaela just caught her fiancé in bed with another woman but has not told no one yet. Loved how Mandy Harbin does not dwell on Mikaela situation but gives just enough information to know what happened and how she feels about it. Her boss still thinks she is engage and sends her to the Woods house to fix some legal stuff for the father. She has no clue that they are Lion Mountain Shifters. I loved how she found out they were shifters as it was an intense moment but was not big on her reaction. She took it pretty easy. I found Mikaelas character sexy with her strong will attitude. She can not understand why she is starting to show feelings for a man she just met who at times just irritates her.

Loved Josh character right from the beginning with his arrogant attitude. He comes off strong right from the start with his cockiness. Even though he knows she has a fiancé, his inner cat is still dying to mate with Mikaela. He does not understand why this is happening but seems he can not stay away from her or keep his hands off her. Once he has a taste of her he starts getting possessive, jealous with an alpha male attitude. Loved how Mikaela has his stomach tied in knots and he looses a little bit of control of his inner cat. Loved how she had him pacing the floor while she went out to the bar. His sweet side was adorable. Loved he would stare at her almost every night at the dinner table and would not start eating till she started.

Their chemistry was hot right from the beginning. The sexual tension was steamy and the sex scenes made me want to take a cold shower after. Loved how Mikaela goes head to head with Josh. Never a dull moment with these two. They are sexy, fun and sweet together.

Loved all the brothers. All of them have their own personality. They were in the story just enough to where I want to know more about them. Never take away from Josh and Mikaela story just added so much more fun to it. The brotherly love his sweet and funny. I love how they have breakfast and dinner together every day. Loved how we got just enough back story on Eric from the father. Got my copy of his story Surrounded by Death: Woods Family Prequel for free with Amazon.

Got my copy Free from Amazon and so happy I read it as soon as I got it. Already bought my copy of Toby’s story Surrounded by Pleasure (Woods Family #2). Look forward to get back to the Woods brothers and see how Toby’s inner cat does with an unattached female. Do not know if the first in the Woods Family series is always free or just a limited time, but grab your copy now as it is a must read and great series not to be miss. Keeper for me as I will re-read in the future.  Mandy Harbin is now a favorite author for me that I look forward to reading everything she has written and future novels.

Savage Awakening (Alpha Pack #2)
by J.D. Tyler

Sexy Snippet:

Glad to oblige, he laved her slit, giving her as much pleasure as he knew how, getting her nice and wet. Then he tongue-fucked the slick channel, playing with the nub of her clit at the same time, until she yanked on his hair

"Please! I need you in me."

Pushing to his feet, he wiped his mouth and grinned. "Anything the lady wants."

"I want to not feel like a lady right now," she retorted, beckoning him with a finger.

"I think I can deliver." At last he free his erection, shoving his jeans down his hips. "Up on the table you go, on your back."

He helped her up, and after she was lying down, he hooked his arms under her knees and pulled her foward, until he bottom was off the edge and being supported by him. Knees shaking with anticipation, he draped her legs over his shoulders, lifting her rear. The head of his leaking cock was pointed at the dewy mound he couldn't wait to bury himself inside.

Loving book 2 more than book 1. Yummy alpha male wolf shifters!

Review: Primal Law (Alpha Pack #1) by J.D. Tyler

Primal Law (Alpha Pack #1)

Meet the Alpha Pack, a top-secret military team of wolf-shifters fighting the most dangerous predators in the world, human and nonhuman. After a massacre leaves Jaxon Law crippled, he must relearn how to fight-and battle the anger and guilt threatening to overwhelm him. But when Jax rescues a beautiful woman who awakens his primal instincts, he is unprepared for the dangers that lie ahead. Soon he must decide if the deep connection he feels with Kira is worth defying the ultimate shifter law...

Primal Law takes a different take on Wolf-shifters with special abilities, instant mating and other beings that are interesting. For me it is 3 stars - like it, good start to a series that sounds promising.

Jax liked him right from the beginning with his sexy wolf Tattoo, over protective side when he rescues Kira. Loved his sweet, bit jealous and alpha male attitude.

Kira was a sweetheart especially when it came to the other Paranormal beings. I love how all she wanted to do was help them. But considering Jax is a wolf shifter she really was not all that willing to help him.

The pacing of the novel was smooth but at times felt like it was more on world building than the romance department. But once the romance does kick in, it is sexy and the sexual tension is hot. The chemistry between Jax and Kira was nice and was rooting for them to get their HEA.

Love the action scenes and all the secondary characters including the other beings. With a good ending I look forward to see how this series plays out. Even though I just like this novel it is still a keeper as I can see re-reading it in the future.

When they first meet Olivia thinks Cash is a stripper and he plays along. This is after she finds out he is not the stripper.

"You'd better close those lips before I'm tempted to kiss them and really give you something to be all hot and bothered about."

Found it sexy when Cash jumped over the bar.

With a grin, he plants his hands flat on the bar and lifts himself onto it, throwing his legs over and hopping down right beside me.

Dallas TV morning show host Madelyn Cornish is poised, perfect, and unflappable, from her glossy smile to her sleek professionalism. No one knows that her iron will guards a shattered heart and memories of a man she’s determined to lock out. Until that man shows up at a morning meeting like a bad dream: Billy Wilkins, sexy hockey superstar in a tailspin—still skating, still fighting, and still her ex-husband.

Now the producers want this poster child for bad behavior to undergo an on-air makeover, and Billy, who has nothing to lose, agrees to the project. It’s his only chance to get near Maddy again, and to fight for the right things this time around. He believes in the fire in Maddy’s whiskey eyes and the passion that ignites the air between them. This bad-boy heartbreaker wants a last shot to be redeemed by the only thing that matters: Maddy’s love.

After reading the first 2 books in The Crooked Creek Ranch series and they were only 2 stars - ok for me because the characters are so hateful. I thought I would give this series one more chance and was really hoping Crazy Thing Called Love would have better characters that were some what nice. Did not happen. Right at the beginning I could not connect with Billy who seriously needs anger management. I really wanted to feel Madelyn’s pain when she decides to give Billy another chance at the beginning of their marriage when she caught him with girls in his hotel room but for me the writing was a bit flat. Not a lot of detail on why their marriage was bad. I just assumed since she has to play babysitter while he is playing hockey so he does not cheat on her, took it as why it was bad. Even the secondary characters are not nice. Her supposed friend sets up the deal with Billy getting his make over. Did not care how it was going to affect Madelyn because it was just business. Crazy Kind Of Love has a sexy cover with an interesting synopsis but for me it was just Ok - 2 stars. I am so bummed I could not connect with any of this series characters and will not be reading anymore.

Chad Gamble, all-star pitcher for the Nationals, is one of the best players on—and off—the field. And right now, the notorious bad boy wants Bridget Rodgers. But with her lush curves and snappy comebacks, the feisty redhead is the kind of woman a man wants to settle down with…and that’s the last thing Chad needs.

When the paparazzi catch them in a compromising position, Chad’s manager issues an ultimatum: clean up his act or kiss his multi-million dollar contract goodbye. To save his career, his meddling publicist says he'll have to convince everyone Bridget isn’t just his flavor of the week, but his girlfriend.

Being blackmailed into a fake relationship with Chad Gamble isn’t easy, especially when the sizzling physical attraction between them is undeniable. With a month to go on their arranged pretense, it's going to take every ounce of willpower they have not to fall into bed together...or in love.

Tempting the player starts out great with sexy chemistry between Chad and Bridget in the bar. Could not turn my Kindle fast enough to see how Chad was going to do in the bedroom. It starts off sexy and for sure fan-yourself-moments.

Slowly, he pulled his hand free and stepped back. With his eyes locked onto hers, he brought his finger to his mouth and sucked off her arousal.

But then it goes down hill after that. Bridget and her insecurities, notices his phone has gotten a text from what looks like a Victoria Secret Model while he is cleaning up in the bathroom and decides to read the text and then leaves. For me that felt pushed so they had a reason to not finish what they started so it will continue with the storyline later on. I know it is a novel and not real but lets try to make it somewhat realistic. Really who goes to a sexy man’s house for some bedroom action and then snoop on his phone.

The story does then drag on for awhile until they meet again some time later while her friend and his brother from book 1 invites them both to lunch with out knowing these two were almost together. Then it gets good again. He has been thinking about her and kisses her but not knowing that someone took a picture of them. Then after that it started getting boring again. Basically the scenes with the lady that was hired to be in charge of getting his bad boy reputation taken care of were boring and long scenes. Could of done with those being cut back a little.

For me the book really does not pick up again until they both agree to be a fake couple. Them getting to know each other is playful and fun when they are asking each other questions. He is sweet at times with a bit of Alpha Male attitude. He is sexy when he is dominate in the bedroom. When ever he tells her she is beautiful it is hot and will make any woman wish you had a man telling you are beautiful the way he does it. Loved how the Christmas scene was played out. What he does for her is a swoon worthy moment.

I do miss some of the brother sarcastic moments. Felt they were not as much as they were in book 1. I wish some of the boring stuff was cut short and added more with the secondary characters. Tempting The Player was so easy at times to put down and then at times could not put it down. I am only liking this series but really want to love it. I will still continue on with it and hopefully one novel will grab my attention from the beginning and hold on to

"I see it, Jack. Your muse is back. The thing that gave you passion, tormented you, and haunted you is back. You're reeling in ecstasy and dread. It's something you want, but can't ever have. And the one that brings the pain is pure, white as snow... and standing in front of you."

One kiss could have changed Abby's life, but when it didn't happen, she ran. Jack was everything to her and when he didn't respond, Abby couldn't bear it. Everything about that night--leaning in close to his face, feeling the night breeze teasing her hair, the way his scent filled her head--was burned vividly into her mind, including the moment when Jack pulled away. There was no kiss. Abby was wrong. She was wrong about him, wrong about them.

Maybe she didn't have to go to college two thousand miles away, but she did. She had to forget about him. Abby threw herself off the grid, disappearing completely from the life she knew. After completing her undergraduate degree, she enrolled in seminary. All contact with her old life was severed and she never looked back, until she was forced to.

When Abby puts idealism into practice, her congregation throws her out. If she can survive a year on her own, they'll take her back, and continue to pay off her student loans--but if she fails, Abby is on her own with enough debt to fund a small town. Seminary wasn't cheap. With no place left to go, Abby returns to New York and her best friend takes her in.

Desperate to make it on her own and prove she was right, Abby follows a job lead to an art studio on Long Island. It isn't until she hears Jack's voice that she freezes. The hairs on the back of her neck prickle as she turns to see Jack, ten years later, looking even more tempting than before.

Fate is cruel. Abby left this life behind, but she's thrown back into it, head first. It's like someone hit rewind on her life and its ten years earlier. She's the cotton-mouthed girl that she always was around Jack, and now her future relies on the man who rejected her.

Found this sexy cover with an interesting blurb and had many great reviews. To my disappointment Scandalous was 1 star - not good. I do not expect a lot for 99 cents novels but I want to at least like them - 3 stars. The writing style and characters did not grab my attention. I wanted spark or some kind of emotion from Abby especially the first time she sees Jack after 10 years but got nothing. Both characters are flat and boring. More research was needed with the church to at least make it a 2 star - ok novel. I am bummed I could not connect with this story because I do have Two YA novels (a free novel and another 99 cent novel) from H.M. Ward to read this year for my YA reading challenge. I hope I can connect with the characters for those books. As for her adult novels at this time I will not give any others a try.

Teaser Tuesday Prelude: The Wild Ones by M. Leighton

The Tuesday Prelude is a weekly meme hosted by Realms Of An Open Mind.  You know we all love to share more than just a few lines, now is your chance to add some of your favorite teasers and introduce a little piece of the story you are currently reading or just read.

Well I already read The Wild Ones a few weeks back but loved it so much I thought I would share with you all, some of my favorite teaser and what I loved about the novel.

Love when Trick and Cami talk and tease eachother by saying one thing but really meaning another thing.

"The View around here is very nice for one thing. Rounded hills, lush valleys, gently-curving roads, tight, firm..turns." I look over at her from the corner of my eye and grin. "And sometimes there's a hint of strawberry in the air. Makes my mouth water."

It is nice to see the friendship build especially after her boyfriend pissed her off.

Without saying a word, I bend down and lift her legs, pulling them across my lap as I sit down.

"Here," I say, holding my hand out for the little bottle she's still clutching. She frowns, but she hands it over anyway. I shake the bottle again, like I've seen women do before, then I unscrew the cap. "Talk to me," I urge as I bend down to paint a bright red streak on her first toe.

Love how he is honest and lets her know once they take the next step there is no going back to being just friends.

He drops his head, his cheek pressed to mine, and he whispers in my ear. "If we go, we can't come back. Not ever. "Things will never be the same."

The VC Warriors are an elite group of vampire who protect innocents, whether human or those of their own race. Jared Kincaid, along with other Warriors, are shocked when a fiery red head with a gun and attitude, bring news of young teens being turned into an army of half-breed vampires capable of taking out all VC Warriors.

Breaking into the famed VC Warriors compound was definitely not the smartest thing Tessa Pride has ever done, but she will do anything for her brother, Adam. The Warriors held the one person she knew was responsible for her brother being turned into a half-breed and nothing will stop her from getting what she needs to help her brother, not even a Warrior whose eyes could make her melt with one look.

Jared and Tessa join forces in a desperate scramble to find who is responsible. With a war between Warriors and half-breeds brewing, suspicions of traitors in their midst put the lives of everyone involved on the line.

Jared is fun, sexy, emotional, action packed with the yummiest Alpha Males Heroes and the hottest kick butt Heroines. Good amount of surprises with some twist and turns that had me on the edge of my seat and never seen them coming.

Fell head over heals for Jared when he was first introduced in Damon (The Protectors #1). His character was sweet, fun and a smart mouth. Huge Thank You to Teresa Gabelman for keeping Jared’s personality just the way he was in Damon and for giving everything I love about him and so much more in his story. Loved seeing his over protective Alpha Male attitude and it was a joy to see his softer side towards Tessa.

Loved Tessa’s strong will character right from the beginning when she storms into the interrogation room and goes head to head with Jared to get answers for her brother being turned into a half breed. I love how she is protective of her brother and will go to great lengths to help him.

Right from the beginning their chemistry is hot and the sexual tension was off the charts steamy. Their relationship builds through out the novel and Jared is patient with Tessa especially just coming off a bad relationship. They do have their ups and downs because of this and because he is different and his ways our different especially when it comes to feeding. That scene broke my heart and made me smile. His little jealous and possessive side got my stomach all tingly. They are also playful through out the novel that I loved and had me giggling.

All secondary characters play a roll in Jared and never take away from their story just add so much more to it. Was very excited to see how Damon and Nicole are doing and how they are now that they are a couple. I enjoyed Adams Character and I hope to see him and Angelina in future novels. Sed is funny but still a mystery to me. Look forward to seeing him and getting to know him more in other novels in the future. Now Pam and Duncan broke my heart. Their roll in the story is darker and loved every minute of it.

I am loving how these badass warriors are like family. The love they have for each other and their lovers are real. Never a dull moment with these guys. Whether they are in combat or just hanging out they crack me up.

Loved the ending as it left me wanting more now. It is really not a cliffhanger but just enough to know what is coming next. Looking for a different take on Paranormal Romance with characters that are real, they jump off the pages, a great storyline and sexy kick butt heroes then Teresa Gabelman’s The protectors series is it. Jared is another 5 stars - Perfect - keeper in The Protectors Series.

Review: One Night Stand by Parker Kincade

One Night Stand (The Martin Family #1)
by Parker Kincade
Purchase Links: Amazon Barnes & Noble
E-book 113 pages

Blurb by Goodreads
Amanda Martin has the worst taste in men. After being cheated on not once, but twice, she’s lost all faith in men … and in herself. Determined to regain her confidence, Amanda decides to have a one-night stand. No relationship, no promises, no threat of being hurt again … just sex. What she doesn’t anticipate is meeting a handsome-as-sin stranger who will give her pleasure unlike any she’s ever known.

Joe Sterling has spent his life avoiding relationships, his former job as a military sniper not allowing for such commitments. Now he’s come home to Texas, to let go of the past and to prove he is more than the killer he’s been trained to be.

When Amanda’s life is threatened, Joe’s killer instinct is tested while Amanda struggles to protect her heart. Will they succumb to their overwhelming desire for each other, or lose it all by letting the past dictate their future?

Parker Kincade’s writing voice and story telling is beautiful. She knows how to write a amazing erotic romance with a good suspense plot, scorching sex scenes, yummy alpha male heroes with kick butt heroines that know how to put them in their place.

Joe is a sexy dirty talking, Harley Riding, ex military sniper with a alpha male attitude but is also sweet that you will fall in love with right at the beginning. I know I did! Fell head over heals more for him through out the novel.

Loved Amanda’s character the minute she slugged the man in the bar for touching her and giving her a hard time. Even though she has some insecurities about the ones she love leaving her she was not your winey type or damsel in distressed. Being raised by 3 alpha males brothers especially Caleb the oldest, she can hold her own. Her insecurities are more towards her relationships.

Joe and Amanda’s chemistry is off the charts right from the beginning. The Sexual Tension is hot! Loved how she would blossom and come alive in the bedroom from Joe. He brought out the naughtiness in her that I was seriously crushing on her through out the novel. His dirty talking mouth had me changing my panties quite a bit. It is not always sex with them. They are playful together and at times they get so caught up in each other they forget everybody around them. Had me giggling a few times.

I loved all the secondary characters especially Samantha her best friend and Caleb. These two have to have their own book and I hope it is next. Samantha is feisty and always goes head to head with Caleb who is over protective. They play a big roll in One Night Stand, never take away from Joe and Amanda story. Just added so much more to the story. Loved the Horsemen! Amanda and Samantha call the brothers this. Made me giggle when I found out how Amanda’s brothers got the nickname. The only thing the brothers have in common are all over protective of Amanda with alpha males attitude, other than that I loved how they all have their own voice and personalities.

One Night Stand is a must read and Parker Kincade is an author not to be missed. I highly recommend One Night Stand for all erotic fans and even not into erotic I would still recommend to anyone. One Night Stand is about loving and trusting again with bonus scorching sex that is well written.

Parker Kincade is now one of my favorite authors that I will be stalking to see when her next book in the Martin Family comes out. I would buy and read anything she writes. One Night Stand is a keeper that I will be re-reading.
