I have never read anything by J.C. Emery and she has a book coming out October 28th, Ride (Bayonet Scars #1) that I really want to read. So I thought since a new author to me I would like to sample one of her other novels and get a feel of her writing voice. I know this book 2 in Men With Badges series but the blurb caught my attention more than book 1. Figured since it is a sample and just want to get a feel for her I thought it could not hurt as being 2nd book in a series. Have not sampled The Switch yet but hoping do so before Ride comes out. The cover is drool worthy.

I do not remember how I found Unspoken but read the first review and said  "Alpha Male" downloaded the sample, read and ASAP had to have more.  I am liking it, Jen writing voice is smooth and enjoying Bo and AnneMarie but I am about 46% into it and  nothing is wowing me yet. Bo so far is a swoon worthy, charming, sweetheart but I have yet to see his "Impulsive. Unthinking. Hot tempered" side.  He has says many times he wants to kick some Lacrosse guys butts that have started bad rumors about AnneMarie but have yet to act on it. I am loving the friendship they are building and  the fun bantering between them. I am just waiting for that wow moment where I can not put it down.

Well I was suppose to post this as my last Monday Sample but did have exciting news and did not get to do it. I posted Lissa Matthew, Slide Down On Me as my Lusting For Cover Pick and had no info and wanted to know more about it since I could not read a sample of that but read a yummy excerpt wanted to try another of her novels. All sounded so good and ended up sampling Twisted Up and enjoyed it. Now it is on my To Buy List. The blurb sounds good and the cover is yummy.

Mine this week is Maybe Baby Lite by Andrea Smith. Downloaded the sample last week or week before and have not had the chance to read it. Seen many great reviews for this but still was not sure. I am a sucker for an Alpha Male hero and have a tendency to click the buy it now button way to quick. Then later get so bummed out I was the very rare one who did not like it. Happened way too many times.
