 Thoughts
I have been out of the blogging and book world for so long.  I was excited when I found out M. Leighton had a new book coming out. Thanks to Stuck In Books for the cover reveal post.  Had to use it for my L4C post this week. Love the nice tush shot in jeans. The best part for me is the hat hanging off the jeans.

Like my L4C pick this week? Love to know what your thoughts are.

Review: All The Pretty Lies by M. Leighton

All the Pretty Lies (Pretty #1)
by M. Leighton
Purchase Links: Amazon  Barnes & Noble

Burb by Goodreads

“Live, no regrets”

Her…Sloane Locke has led a sheltered life. However, with a history like hers, she can understand why her brothers and her father want so much to protect her. She has gone along with it for twenty long years, but those days are over. For the girl who never makes promises, Sloane has made a pact with herself that things will change on her twenty-first birthday. So when the clock strikes midnight, Sloane strikes out to spread her wings and break a few rules.

Him…In addition to inking skin, Hemi Spencer possesses many talents. Controlling himself has never been one of them. It’s never had to be. He’s lived a life of indulgence for as long as he can remember. Right up until tragedy struck. Now, he’s nothing but controlled. He’s a man on a mission, one who will let nothing and no one stand in his way.

Them…
Nothing in their lives could’ve prepared Sloane and Hemi for what they’d find in each other—distraction and obsession, love and possession. But the one thing they can’t find is a future. Neither one has been totally honest. And they’ll soon learn that the devil is in the details. In the details and in the lies.
How far will two people go to live in the now when the now is all they’ve got?

I have come to learn that when I read a M. Leighton novel I am going to get a story  with lovable characters that have secrets. And with those secrets I never know what they are or when they will be revealed until it is time for them to be revealed and fall nicely in the novel.

As for Sloane the heroine her secret I pretty much had an idea of what it was. It made sense why she wanted to spread her wings and live life in the moment. It was the reason why her brothers and dad were over protective of her. It was believable and made me love her character more. I enjoyed that she had a backbone and knew when to speak up with her family and knew when to let some things go.

As for her brothers and dad, I fell in love with them in the beginning and fell harder for them through out the novel. They all have Alpha Male attitudes when it comes to their sister and daughter. They are extremely over protective but also understanding and sweet. All the moments with her through out the novel are believable not just bunch of over bearing alpha male characters throwing orders around. I really grew to adore her father more especially after his talk with her about Hemi.

Now Hemi's secret I had many scenario's running through my head and wow was I surprise none came close to what is was. The moment Sloane walked into the Tattoo Sop and got caught checking him out I was already liking his character. Innocent Sloane is a distraction he does not need at this moment in his life. He has only been with experienced lovers and they all know to be out by the time he gets out of the bathroom. He is not "the breakfast kind of guy".  He finds it harder and harder to keep himself in control when he is around Sloane.

"But nothing. For tonight, I'll be the good guy you need me to be. Whether you know you need it or not. I'm asking you to leave, Sloane. But I promise you-promise you-that if you so much as darken my doorway again, I won't let you walk back out again."

Right along with Sloane I fell harder and harder for sexy wearing 501 button fly jeans Hemi and his tatted up-pierce brow-1969 Camaro driving-jealous-possessive-alpha male attitude. Love that their friendship builds into a romance there is no intsa love. His jealous and possessive moments are gradually done through out the novel where fit the scenes. There is no angst but they do have their ups and down moments. I am not always a huge fan of virgin heroines because lately it seems to be the trend to have a virgin heroine who is clumsy. That was not the case here. Sloane is a virgin and not clumsy, but being raised with her over protective family and since been caged in all her life she really does not have a lot of dating experience. She  knows what she wants and she wants Hemi. She is not one to shy away when it comes to getting what she wants. Their sexual tension and love making scenes are fan your self hot with a dirty talking hero. M. Leighton did a beautiful but yet sexy job on their first love scene.  Loved that they were playful and she knew how to get him hot and bothered and vice versa. The best parts for me was there were a lot of first moments for both of them.

So much sexiness going on in ATPL that is written well with delicious detailed description's. I felt every touch and every tattoo being inked. I want a tattoo artist, Hemi for my very own. Love that this is a series and Reese who is Hemi's brother is up next in All the Pretty Poses (Pretty #2) . Curious about his brothers since we got more on her family and not enough on his. I am interested to see what his family is like.

My Pick:

Everything For Us (The Bad Boys #3)
by M. Leighton
Release Date: September 3, 2013
New Adult

Blurb by Goodreads

When it comes to passion this hot, it’s all or nothing.

Olivia Townsend’s wealthy cousin Marissa had everything a girl could ask for—a great job, a privileged life, and all the friends she wanted. Or, at least, all the friends money could buy. But one case of mistaken identity has turned her privileged world upside down.

An abduction gone wrong lands her right in the lap of the sexiest, most dangerous man she’s ever met. To Marissa, he’s an enigma, but one to whom she’s irresistibly, inexplicably drawn.

With him comes a new world of freedom and passion, of dark shadows and dangerous secrets, a world where nothing is what it seems—except for the blind passion that Marissa can’t escape—or maybe even survive.

Why:
I am loving the new covers for The Bad Boys series by M. Leighton. Love the black/white theme and the font in bright coloring. Everything For Us is my fav in the series.  Loved book 1, need to get my butt in gear and read book 2. Reading the blurb about Marissa makes me want to read book 2 now to find out more on Marissa.

Have you read The Bad Boys series? What do you think of the new covers? Love to know your thoughts.

NA Review: The Wild Ones by M. Leighton

The Wild Ones (The Wild Ones #1)
by M. Leighton

Blurb by Goodreads

**MATURE CONTENT ADVISORY: May not be suitable for younger readers**

Passion as hot as midnight in the South and love as wild as the horses they tame.

Camille “Cami” Hines is the darling daughter of the South’s champion thoroughbred breeder, Jack Hines. She has a pedigree that rivals some of her father’s best horses. Other than feeling a little suffocated at times, Cami thought she was pretty happy with her boyfriend, her life and her future.

But that was before she met Patrick Henley.

“Trick” blurs the lines between what Cami wants and what is expected of her. He’s considered the “help,” which is forbidden fruit as far as her father is concerned, not to mention that Trick would be fired if he ever laid a hand on her. And Trick needs his job. Desperately. His family depends on him.

The heart wants what the heart wants, though, and Trick and Cami are drawn to each other despite the obstacles. At least the ones they know of.

When Trick stumbles upon a note from his father, it triggers a series of revelations that could ruin what he and Cami have worked so hard to overcome. It turns out there’s more to Trick’s presence at the ranch than either of them knew, secrets that could tear them apart.

Loved the Wild Ones and how M. Leighton was able to make alternating POV between the hero and heroine enjoyable. Their POVS blend nicely together continuing the scenes. Never repeating stuff.

I enjoyed how little by little you get the past of Trick and Cami. When their past comes up, it is nicely blended within the scene. Wow. Had a little twist I did not see coming.

They are perfect for each other. I loved how their relationship slowly builds from friendship to lovers. Trick is so swoon worthy on so many levels. I just loved how he put his life and college on hold to take care of his mom and sister.

I can not wait for Rusty and Jenna’s story in The Wild Child (The Wild Ones #2).

Review: Down To You (The Bad Boys #1) by M. Leighton

Down To You (The Bad Boys #1)
by M. Leighton
Purchase Links: Amazon  Barnes & Noble

Blurb by Goodreads

The scorching tale of one girl and two brothers in a love triangle…that’s not.

Olivia Townsend is nothing special. She’s just a girl working her way through college so she can return home to help her father run his business. She’s determined not to be the second woman in his life to abandon him, even if it means putting her own life on hold. To Olivia, it’s clear what she must do. Plain and simple. Black and white.

But clear becomes complicated when she meets Cash and Nash Davenport. They’re brothers. Twins.

Cash is everything she’s always wanted in a guy. He’s a dangerous, sexy bad boy who wants her in his bed at any cost. He turns her insides to mush and, with just one kiss, makes her forget why he’s no good for her.

Nash is everything she’s ever needed in a guy. He’s successful, responsible and intensely passionate. But he’s taken. Very taken, by none other than Marissa, Liv’s rich, beautiful cousin. That doesn’t stop Olivia from melting every time he looks at her, though. With just one touch, he makes her forget why they can never be together.

Black and white turns to shades of gray when Olivia discovers the boys are hiding something, something that should make her run as far and as fast as she can. But it’s too late to run. Olivia’s already involved. And in love. With both of them.

Both brothers make her heart tremble. Both brothers set her body on fire.

She wants them both.

And they want her.

How will she ever choose between them?

Wow! Down To You was an amazing read. Twins Cash and Nash have a huge secret that I could not swipe my kindle fast enough to find out what it was. Down To You kept me guessing on what the big secret they are hiding but not in a million years did I think it was what it was. Totally shocked when I found out. After reading Down To You it was hard for me to sleep. All I kept thinking about was Cash, Nash, Olivia and the big secret.

I was hooked from the beginning of Down To You of how Cash and Olivia first met. I was seriously crushing on Cash.

"You'd better close those lips before I'm tempted to kiss them and really give you something to be all hot and bothered about."

Enjoyed both Twins as they have their own personality. Cash is the sexy tattoo, motorcycle riding, bar owner, sure of himself twin. Nash is the romantic who sends flowers and is into his work. Olivia has fallen for both of the twins. But Cash does not do relationships and Nash is dating her cousin. She has a huge problem as one of the twins sneaks into her bedroom in the middle of the night and she has sex with him, but after and he leaves she has no idea which one of the twins she slept with. Now it is her mission to find out who it was. The sex is hot and loved the sexual tension with the twins and Olivia.

M. Leighton has a way of writing that you are so engrossed in her novel that you forget what time it is. All ready got my copy of Up To You #2 and look forward to reading it.

Teaser Tuesday Prelude: Down To You by M. Leighton

The Tuesday Prelude is a weekly meme hosted by Realms Of An Open Mind. You know we all love to share more than just a few lines, now is your chance to add some of your favorite teasers and introduce a little piece of the story you are currently reading or just read.

When they first meet Olivia thinks Cash is a stripper and he plays along. This is after she finds out he is not the stripper.

"You'd better close those lips before I'm tempted to kiss them and really give you something to be all hot and bothered about."

Found it sexy when Cash jumped over the bar.

With a grin, he plants his hands flat on the bar and lifts himself onto it, throwing his legs over and hopping down right beside me.

Teaser Tuesday Prelude: The Wild Ones by M. Leighton

The Tuesday Prelude is a weekly meme hosted by Realms Of An Open Mind.  You know we all love to share more than just a few lines, now is your chance to add some of your favorite teasers and introduce a little piece of the story you are currently reading or just read.

Well I already read The Wild Ones a few weeks back but loved it so much I thought I would share with you all, some of my favorite teaser and what I loved about the novel.

Love when Trick and Cami talk and tease eachother by saying one thing but really meaning another thing.

"The View around here is very nice for one thing. Rounded hills, lush valleys, gently-curving roads, tight, firm..turns." I look over at her from the corner of my eye and grin. "And sometimes there's a hint of strawberry in the air. Makes my mouth water."

It is nice to see the friendship build especially after her boyfriend pissed her off.

Without saying a word, I bend down and lift her legs, pulling them across my lap as I sit down.

"Here," I say, holding my hand out for the little bottle she's still clutching. She frowns, but she hands it over anyway. I shake the bottle again, like I've seen women do before, then I unscrew the cap. "Talk to me," I urge as I bend down to paint a bright red streak on her first toe.

Love how he is honest and lets her know once they take the next step there is no going back to being just friends.

He drops his head, his cheek pressed to mine, and he whispers in my ear. "If we go, we can't come back. Not ever. "Things will never be the same."

Sexy Snippet
With confident fingers, I reach out and grip his thick shaft, stroking the hard satin length. When I hear him groan, I see one glistening drop of liquid appear on the head. Sliding back on the seat, I bend forward and touch my tongue to the tip, licking the drop. Then licking him again.

I close my lips around him and feel Cash's fingers fist in my hair. I can't fit much of him into my mouth, so I lick and suck my up and down the sides, cupping his balls and teasing them with my lips and tongue.

A yummy Sexy Snippet  with Cash and Olivia on a four wheeler out in the open Enjoyed reading Down To You. Review coming soon.

Swoon: The Wild Ones by M. Leighton

Swoon is a meme featured on Thursdays by YA Bound. From the book you’re currently reading, or one you just finished, tell us what made you SWOON. What got your heart pounding, your skin tingling, and your stomach fluttering.

The inside of her mouth tastes like sugar and mint. I tease the tip of her tongue and it flirts back a little with mine. What really surprises me is when I feel her hand at my waist. Her fingers  fist in my shirt. She's holding on for dear life.

I wind my arm around her tiny waist and pull her body in close to mine. I feel her melt against me. It's all I can do not to throw her over my shoulder and carry her off into the dark...
