I loved Wait For You by J. Lynn. One of the things I love about Wait For You is the journey from building Avery and Cam’s friendship before they have a relationship. But it has to be done right and be able to keep me interested and not boring. J. Lynn nailed it with Wait For You. Their friendship was a journey I loved reading about and her characters kept it going with cute, fun humor that never got old or boring.

 

When Avery was a young teen, a bad incident happened to her that left her broken. She is an only child and her parents were not around much. After the bad incident she needed her family and friends the most. They all turned on her. For years she had no more friends and never dated, that is until she left home to attend college across state to start a new life. She meets Brittany, Jacob and Cam in college and forms a friendship that she has not had in a long time. I loved how she was a strong will character and really tried as much as she could to put the past behind her. I love how J. Lynn portrayed Avery’s character. It was realistic, especially after what had happened to her in the past. It is not a light matter. Now Cam who is hot and well known around campus is showing interest in her. He ask her out and she declines. From there they build a friendship. Deep down inside she is interested but does not know how to handle it.

 

Hands down Cam is the most swoon worthy hero I have read. Right from the beginning his swoon moments start and never stops. I loved how he was there wiping her tears when ever something bad has happened. The best are the Sunday breakfast times they have together. The love and patience he has for Avery is amazing. Cam has been asking Avery out for months before she finally says yes. It is fun and cute the way he would slip it in with their conversations. Cam is a sexy tattoo, charming hero with a great sense of humor and it is not cheesy, just adds so much more to his character.

 

“Oh, God, no.” Cam said. “This is Candy, Mom.”

His mothers eyes widened and a bit of color infused her cheeks. “Uh, I’m...”

“I’m Avery,” I said. Shooting Cam a look. “You had it right.”

 

I love how his great personality brought Avery’s fun personality out too. He makes her feel happy and alive again. The banter between them is pure fun. He is arrogant and she gives it right back at him. I loved how he has a pet turtle name Raphael.

“Everything about me is thrilling.” he replied.

“About as thrilling as watching your tortoise cross a road.”

“Uh-huh. Keep telling yourself that sweetheart.”

 

Wow! Once they become a couple they are hot together. The sex scenes are steamy and well done. I loved how he is patient with her and never pushes her any further till she is ready. The sexual tension is smoking hot.

 

"Guess What, Avery?"

"What?" I wondered if he could see how fast my heart was beating beneath my shirt.

"Remember how you just said you were having a good time?" Cam lowered his head so that our mouths were scant inches apart. "It's about to get better."

"Is It?"

He shifted his head and his nose grazed mine. "Oh, yeah."

Their relationship does have a few bumps along the way, that were at times heart wrenching. The best is their characteristics never change once a couple, still cute and playful with each other.

He kissed the center of my back then his lips were on the flare of my hip. Warm breath danced over my lower back and then he kissed my right cheek.
I giggled, wiggling.
"You know what they say about a guy who kisses a girl's ass? Literally?"
"He knows his place?"
"Ha. Ha." He swept my hair off my neck and kissed me there. "He's absolutely in love with the girl."

 

Cam has some issues from his past, that he has had to learn how to deal with it. Cam is very protective when it comes to his family and anyone he cares for. He can get jealous at times but it is not overly done.

 

The only thing that bothered me was the constant mentioning of Cam’s striking blue eyes from Avery. Other words were used too but always had to mention the eye color. Yep got it quit a few times in the beginning. Did not need the repeat. About halfway through it stopped with the mentioning of eye color and would just mention striking eyes etc.

 

I loved the secondary characters. Jacob was a hoot and hilarious. Brittany was a good friend to Avery. I loved whenever the three of them were together added so much fun moments in the story and never took away from Avery and Cam’s time. Cam’s room mates are fun too. It was never boring or felt like fill ins just to make the book longer. Cam’s parents and sister were great and funny. We get a little insight on something bad that has happened to his sister Teresa. Very excited Be With Me (Wait For You #2) is coming in 2013. I hope it is about Teresa. Wait For You is a great start to a promising series. Highly recommend for all New Adults fans and Adult romance fans looking for an awesome read with realistic characters that jump of the pages. Wait For You is a keeper for me when I am in the mood for a good friends to lover novel with a swoon worthy hero.

I loved everything about Wait For You by J. Lynn. One of the things I love about Wait For You is the journey from buiding there friendship before they have a relationship.  But it has to be done right and beable to keep me interested and not boring.  J. Lynn nailed it with Wait For You. Their friendship was a journey I loved reading about and her characters kept it going with cute, fun humor that never got old or broing.  

Cam is charming, fun and arrogant in a cute way. I love how he is persistent on asking her almost daily to go on date with him.

 

 

"I'm not going out with you, Cam."

 

"I didn't ask you at this moment, now did I?' One side of his lips curved up. "But you will eventually."

 

My eyes narrowed. "You're delusional."

 

"I'm determined."

 

"More like annoying."

 

"Most would say amazing."

 

 

Love his sense of humor.

 

"The Notebook? You own the notebook?"

 

Cam stared at me blankly. "What's wrong with that?"

 

"Oh, nothing is wrong with that. Its just such a... uh, chick flick."

 

"I'm confident enough in my masculinity and sexuality that I can say that Ryan Gosling is just dreamy in this movie."

 

My jaw hit the floor.

 

The blank expression slipped away and he started laughing. "I'm Joking. I don't own the notebook."

 

I am happy that once they got together Cam and Avery were true to their characters and kept up with their  fun personalities.

Tempting the player starts out great with sexy chemistry between Chad and Bridget in the bar. Could not turn my Kindle fast enough to see how Chad was going to do in the bedroom. It starts off sexy and for sure fan-yourself-moments.

 

Slowly, he pulled his hand free and stepped back. With his eyes locked onto hers, he brought his finger to his mouth and sucked off her arousal.

 

But then it goes down hill after that. Bridget and her insecurities, notices his phone has gotten a text from what looks like a Victoria Secret Model while he is cleaning up in the bathroom and decides to read the text and then leaves. For me that felt pushed so they had a reason to not finish what they started so it will continue with the storyline later on. I know it is a novel and not real but lets try to make it somewhat realistic. Really who goes to a sexy man’s house for some bedroom action and then snoop on his phone.

 

The story does then drag on for awhile until they meet again some time later while her friend and his brother from book 1 invites them both to lunch with out knowing these two were almost together. Then it gets good again. He has been thinking about her and kisses her but not knowing that someone took a picture of them. Then after that it started getting boring again. Basically the scenes with the lady that was hired to be in charge of getting his bad boy reputation taken care of were boring and long scenes. Could of done with those being cut back a little.

For me the book really does not pick up again until they both agree to be a fake couple. Them getting to know each other is playful and fun when they are asking each other questions. He is sweet at times with a bit of Alpha Male attitude. He is sexy when he is dominate in the bedroom. When ever he tells her she is beautiful it is hot and will make any woman wish you had a man telling you are beautiful the way he does it. Loved how the Christmas scene was played out. What he does for her is a swoon worthy moment.

 

I do miss some of the brother sarcastic moments. Felt they were not as much as they were in book 1. I wish some of the boring stuff was cut short and added more with the secondary characters. Tempting The Player was so easy at times to put down and then at times could not put it down. I am only liking this series but really want to love it. I will still continue on with it and hopefully one novel will grab my attention from the beginning and hold on to

Review:

Liked It

Jennifer L. Armentrout is an amazing author for her YA Books, especially The Lux Series (which I love and can not get enough of) that is written in first person POV. But as writing J. Lynn for her romance novels and in 3^rd person falls a bit flat.

I prefer Romance over YA and after reading her YA novels I was so excited to see how she writes a Adult Novel. I expected more. I did like reading Tempting The Best Man and rate it as 3 stars-I Liked it, but it could of been so much better.

I love the brothers with there sarcastic brotherly comments. I enjoyed reading how involved they are with Maddie’s family. Loved Maddie’s family.

I could not connect with Maddie and Chase. I think I would of connected more with them if there was not so many inner thoughts and rehashing why she loves him and why he should not love her etc., between their dialog and if they would of eased up on the angst. There was not enough of dialogue time with them. I love some angst between the H/h as long as have some sexual tension, but there was none. I did think Chase was a sweetheart at times especially when he jumped to make sure he was the one to pick her up when her car broke down and did not take advantage of her while she was drunk. He seemed to make sure he was always there for her. Love how he would remember the cutest and embarrassing things when they were kids, loved when they had their memorable talking moments.

I do look forward to the rest of the series as I think this series has potential. I love Jennifer L. Armentrout 1^st person POV and I hope she finds her groove as J. Lynn in 3^rd person. If new to reading this author, not a big fan of this book and do not mind YA novels then give her Lux series a chance and see what an amazing author she is.
