Shooter by Dahlia West
Series: Burnout #1
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Publisher: Author (December 4, 2013)
Pages: 472
Format: Kindle

Chris "Shooter" Sullivan has returned to his home town of Rapid City, South Dakota to pick up the pieces of his life shattered by a roadside bomb in Iraq. He only wants to focus on holding what’s left of his old unit together, running his garage where he builds custom bikes and cars, and pretending that his murdered father’s motorcycle gang doesn’t exist.

Hayley Turner is a young woman with her own traumatic past. Fresh off the bus from Nowhere, USA, all she wants is a job and a place to live, until it’s time for her to leave again. She doesn’t want to make friends, or enemies, least of all the ex-Army Ranger who obviously doesn’t like her. She bristles under his watchful eye. He’s even got her convinced she’s bad news.

But circumstances force two people who don’t need anyone to need each other more and more. The more Chris gets to know Hayley, the harder it is to stay detached. And the more Hayley gets to know Chris, the more she realizes she’s been alone for so long she might never recover from it.

Thoughts: The Good
You all Shooter was going so good for me. I mean I was seriously head over heals for the hero Chris "Shooter" Sullivan".  He was a natural  protector through and through. Does not like any man laying a hand on a woman. He does not know what had Haley the heroine running from but assumes maybe something bad has happened to her like rape. He makes sure his men know not to make her feel uncomfortable in any way. He knows when things are about to bother her. He relaxes her when she does not even know it. He did have that impatient alpha male vibe going too that I love.

"Hayley. I want eyes on you. Right now. Open this door or I'll get an axe and chop it the fuck down."

Loved the secondary characters. Shooter's buddies all had their own voice and the fun banter between them was light and spaced nicely. Had a few good giggles with them.

Hayley the heroine is on the run from someone terrible have no clue why. Just know she has bad scars on her chest and belly.

Went into this book thinking maybe a Biker Romance but so far not and was still enjoying it.

Did not work for me:
27% the book took a whole new direction and went down hill. Him and his buddies have poker nights. Bam all the fun banter I loved earlier in the book all of sudden became too much. The silly banter is again over the top and by 32% it was still going on. By now she is making friends with them and they love having her over on poker nights along as she brings food.

Chris threw up his hands. "I can’t believe this! Why do they get real cake?"

"You know why," Hayley told him matter of factly.

Chris gaped at Hayley then tried to grab Tex’s plate. "Give me some!"

Tex smacked his arm and moved away. "No! You had a failure to communicate. Now you don’t get cake!"

"I order you to give me that cake!"

"I defy those orders," Tex said, shoving a large hunk into his mouth. "This is so worth the stockade," he declared.

"This is my house! That is my cake!" Chris yelled. He turned on Hayley. "You gave my cake away, woman!"

"Surely you’ll have a birthday at some point," Hayley replied coolly. "Maybe I’ll make you a cake then."

I could not take it any more by 44%. She is still going over to play poker and again bringing more food. The banter  between the guys are still long and just seem like more of goofballs. Some might find their banter is fun and like it  but I could not take it any more. Nothing is happening by this point and I still have no clue what happened to her and who is she running from. I did like that she was becoming friends with the hero and his buddies but I want something more happening then just nights and nights of poker, silly bantering over food.

Darn do I hate that when loving a book then out the blue the vibe totally changes.

Sunday Post / Stacking The Shelves: Spring Cleaning / Cuteness Alert

Sunday Post is a weekly recap hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer

Stacking The Shelves is a weekly recap hosted by Tynga's Reviews & Reading Reality

Life: Hi everyone. Hope all is healthy with all the different sickness going around. I missed last Sunday Post decided to start Spring Cleaning. You know how that is once start can not stop or at least with me I have to finish at least one room.

Cuteness Alert: Did not buy any books last week. Happy 6 months to our new addition to the family Hunter. Well my grandsons like to come early. Just like his big brother Roman who was six weeks early (4lbs 9oz) Hunter was 6 1/2 weeks early (3lbs 9oz). Small but healthy babies.

My favorite photo: Dad (our son) and Roman (oldest brother) selfie with Hunter (few hours old).  We all decided Roman who was super excited for a baby brother to be the first to meet him.

Sweet Faces: Roman loves hanging out and helping with his little brother. He loves having matching outfits.

Hunter 6 Months:  No fancy photos for 6 months at grandmas house. He loves to eat and feel like that is all we do LOL.

Wolf's Mate by Celia Kyle

Danger shouldn't be this sexy...

Cougar shifter Abby Carter always plays it safe. That's why she's an accountant--no excitement, no danger, and no cocky alpha males. She loves her quiet life, but fate has other plans. When Abby uncovers the shady dealings of an anti-shifter organization, she'll have to trust the too-sexy-for-her-peace-of-mind werewolf Declan Reed... or end up six feet under.

Declan Reed is starting over. After two years with Shifter Operations Command, it's time to put his past behind him. Now Declan is the only thing standing between the gorgeous Abby and an early grave, and if he's going to have any chance of keeping her alive, he'll have to embrace the darkness he's fought to keep at bay. But first he has to convince Abby that there's no safer place in the world than the arms of a big bad werewolf.

POV: 3rd

Thoughts: Oh Declan (wolf shifter) you had me the moment you defied orders to go after your mate. I just love a crazy ass alpha male shifter who does not care of the consequences. The slow burn romance was good.

Declan is part of the SHOC (Shifter Operations Command). A group of different shifters enlisted not by choice to help the shifter community. Wow what a group of shifters. Loved that all the secondary characters had their own voice and personality. Play a good role in the book that makes me interested for their stories. They all had some great bickering and fun banter moments that had me smiling.

While I loved the interaction with the secondary characters I did also felt at times it was a little over the top. Sometimes less is better. It almost at times felt childish and was more annoying than fun.

I am thinking this series is more on the fun, kind of quirky side. Celia Kyle is a new to me author and I do want to see how book two plays out.

Life / Review: Ruin & Rule by Pepper Winters

Hi everyone. Been a little busy last week with work and weekend home spring cleaning. I have had this book on my mind the last few days and was going to write a review when I realize I wrote a review end of last year on goodreads before I started blogging again. Hope to get to visiting blogs this week. Have a great week.

Thoughts: I was enjoying it in the beginning as it was intense and had an edge to it. I was slowly feeling different emotions for Kill the hero and the heroine. Loved trying to piece together what was happening. I had so many questions and thought I had so many answers. Some were right and some I was way off. But then the plot took a different direction and from there it started to go down hill a little bit. I got some answers about Kill but then new questions popped up. He actually started to annoy me. I finally understood why he kept things from the heroine or really I have an idea has my new questions were never really fully answered. Especially since not everything is what it seems to be. The story started to drag out in places. I felt like a lot of scenes seemed like fillers. I know there is a second book but I do not know when or if I will read it.

This is not your typical MC book. Get a glimpse of the Pure Corruption MC. Their take on running their club is different and interesting.

***This book ends with a small cliffhanger. Intended for 18+. May contain Triggers.***

I was raised by the Devil himself.

Formed into a man who was unreachable.

I went from the boy with bruises to the man with a trigger.

Killing is the only thing that calms the itch.

The demons inside were a constant battle…

…until she changed everything.

Problem is when you spend most of your time in the dark, is it smart to step into the light?
Rating: 4 Stars - Loved It
POV: Dual 1st

Thoughts: Wow what a edge of your seat, gritty, hold nothing back, in your face Biker read. Seriously Trigger gets right down to business in the Slaughter Room. A room with no windows, tile walls and a drain for the Devil's Reach MC to interrogate  anyone who crosses them.

Trigger the hero is a badass, powerful, alpha male President of the Devil's Reach MC. Everyone fears him and know that if you get on his bad side you are a dead man. Readers first learn this in the slaughter room and true to character all the way through story. He has some demons going on and his flash backs show how he became the man he is today. My heart hurt for him.

Love the Slow Burn Romance for now. Tess and Trigger are perfect for each other. Both have their own issues and neither try to change or fix each other. All he knows is how to demand what he wants. Some might fear him but still have enemies. If his enemies ever think Tess is his weakness,  to get to him they will go after her. Only people he has ever cared about are his MC brothers. She soothes his demons and brings light to his dark mind.  He is not your sweet words and flowers type. He does not know how to really express himself with Tess.

"Stay off my men’s bikes."

I turned to glare at him. "Why?”"

"Because it means something."

"I rode on yours. What does that mean?"

"It means stay the hell off their bikes."

Do not know a lot about Tess only a few of her thoughts about her past.  Since this is a Trilogy I guess or hopefully I will get my answers in book 2.

Sunday Post: Acquainted with my toliet

Sunday Post is a weekly recap hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer

Hi everyone. Happy St. Patrick's Day. Had a awesome grandkid free last weekend. TMI here, LOL I am talking about pulling out the wine and got really acquainted with my toilet.

Bought: Monday I continued my grandkid free time. I was not needed for babysitting my 2 grandsons and I took the opportunity to have a PJ kind of reading, lazy day and let me tell you it was amazing. I was in a weird mood and wanted something different so I bought and read Real by Katy Evans.

After writing my review for Hades Hangmen series by Tillie Cole I wanted more of her writing. Just not ready for book 4 of that series. Hero is not my favorite. So I thought I would give her other series Scarred Souls a go.

Freebie Alert: Have been wanting to try Christy Reece Last Chance Rescue series.  Found a nice little surprise she has the 1st book in her LCR Elite series which is a spinoff to the original free. Now I know it is not the exact series I want to read but she is a new to me author and sounds interesting. Still free at time of this post.

Raze By Tillie Cole
Series: Scarred Souls #1
Genre: Dark Contemporary Romance

TO TAKE BACK LIFE, ONE MUST FIRST FACE DEATH…
One man stripped of his freedom, his morals… his life.

Conditioned in captivity to maim, to kill and to slaughter, prisoner 818 becomes an unremorseful, unrivaled and unstoppable fighter in the ring. Violence is all he knows. Death and brutality are the masters of his fate.

After years of incarceration in an underground hell, only one thought occupies his mind: revenge… bloody, slow and violent revenge.

Revenge on the man who lied.

Revenge on the man who wronged him.

Revenge on the man who condemned him and turned him into… this: a rage-fueled killing machine. A monster void of humanity; a monster filled with hate.

And no one will stand in the way of getting what he wants.

One woman stripped of her freedom, her morals… her life.

Kisa Volkova is the only daughter of Kirill ‘The Silencer’ Volkov, head of the infamous ‘Red’ bosses of New York's Russian Bratva. Her life is protected. In reality, it’s a virtual prison. Her father’s savage treatment of his rivals and his lucrative and coveted underground gambling ring—The Dungeon—ensures too many enemies lurk at their door.

She dreams to be set free.

Kisa has known only cruelty and loss in her short life. As manager of her father’s death match enterprise, only grief and pain fill her days. Her mafiya boss father, in her world, rules absolute. And her fiancé, Alik Durov, is no better: The Dungeon’s five-time champion, a stone-cold killer, the treasured son of her father’s best friend, and her very own—and much resented—personal guard. Unrivaled in both strength and social standing, Alik controls every facet of Kisa’s life, dominates her every move; keeps her subdued and dead inside… then one night changes everything.

While working for her church—the only reprieve in her constant surveillance—Kisa stumbles across a tattooed, scarred, but stunningly beautiful homeless man on the streets. Something about him stirs feelings deep within her; familiar yet impossibly forbidden desires. He doesn’t talk. Doesn’t communicate with anyone. He’s a man beyond saving, and a man she must quickly forget… for both their sakes.

But when days later, out of the blue and to her complete surprise, he’s announced as the replacement fighter in The Dungeon, Kisa knows she’s in a whole lot of trouble. He’s built, ripped and lethally unforgiving to his opponents, leaving fear in his wake and the look of death in his eyes.

Kisa becomes obsessed with him. Yearns for him. Craves his touch. Needs to possess this mysterious man...

… this man they call Raze.

With nothing but rumors to lead her, Lynne Harmony has trekked across a nightmare landscape to find one man—a mysterious, damaged legend who protects the weak and leads the strong. He’s more than muscle and firepower—and in post-plague L.A., he’s her only hope. As the one woman who could cure the disease, Lynne is the single most volatile—and vulnerable—creature in this new and ruthless world. But face to face with Jax Mercury…

Danger has never looked quite so delicious…

Rating: 4 Stars - Loved It

Thoughts: What a better way than to start a new genre with my favorite author. Mercury Striking was good for me as it is light in a Post-Apocalyptic world. Just enough gritty background setting here and there to really get the feel how life is after a disease has struck.

Jax has created a safe haven in L.A. He is a strong leader with no emotions and does not trust easy. Jax and Lynne have no strings attached sexual relationship. He needs it that way to keep a clear head to be in charge of everyone. When he is with her he feels human again not a killing machine in the world they live in now. Love that she is also on the same level has he is not getting emotional involved.

Rebecca Zanetti writes the best secondary characters. I did miss the close knit community she is known to write in her other novels. But I also understand that this group have not known each other long and have no past together.  They do all have their own personalities and voice. They have all got me curious.

Triple Quickie Review: It Ain't Me, Babe / Heart Recaptured / Souls Unfractured by Tillie Cole

Decided to do a quickie review for Hades Hangmen Series by Tillie Cole since I binge read them. Wow what a series. Different and kept making me want more after each book. Really it was Flame in Souls Unfractured  who I could not wait to get to his story in book 3. He is introduced in book 1 and wanted to know more about him.

Series Thoughts: This Biker series is different from what I have ever read. Have an MC Club and their enemies a Cult. Never read anything dealing with a Cult and was pretty interesting. Heroes are rough around the edges and some are broken. They all have different personalities but have one thing in common. They are loyal and protect each other and anybody else that comes in their family. This series  definitely have some touchy subjects and  are graphic some more than others. Flashbacks are well done and needed to really feel what the characters have been through. All the hero/heroines stay true to their character. I always liked the covers and thought they were a bit different. Now I love them as they really portray the stories.

I feel this series needs to be read in order. The overall plot containing with the Cult continues with the series. I am nervous to read book 4 because the hero. Not a fan of him and can not believe he is even getting his own book. I really want to skip it but afraid I am going to miss something big with the MC, something different with the Cult or something new to the series.

If interested in what I thought of each book I gave my mini reviews next to each one.

It Ain't Me, Babe by Tillie Cole

Rating: 4 Stars - Loved It

Thoughts: I knew going in that Styxx stutters a lot in his book. Some reviews thought it was too much and some had no issues with it. I knew I wanted to try this series but with this info I kept putting it off. Finally I was in the mood for a different kind of biker read and gave it a chance. So happy I did. Yes he does stutter a lot but it grew on me. I was right there feeling his frustration when trying to communicate with Mae as she does not do sign language. Loved that the author broke up between him signing and speaking. He has his biker brother who he signs too and felt so personal.

Heart Recaptured
Series: Hades Hangmen #2
Pages: 503

Rating: 3 Stars - Liked It

Thoughts: Lilah was a hard character to take in at times. I did not dislike her she just seemed so stubborn. I understood where she was coming from. She did not want to leave the cult that was taken from her. She could not understand they are bad people and what they are doing is wrong.

As I loved having the cult in the first book I felt it was too much of them in this book. The plot line with them towards the end felt the same as book 1. Wanted a little something different.

Souls Unfractured
Series: Hades Hangmen #3
Pages: 371

Rating: 3 Stars - Liked It

Thoughts: I could not wait for Flames story and was not expecting to have my heart broken on so many levels and be grossed out.  Everything I wanted to know about Flame with his cutting, no touching and counting I got and so much more. But most of it I wish I did not fully know . I was actually grossed out by how he lives and what he does on the floor in front of the hatch. Flash backs were a huge factor in his story and let me tell you I usually do not get bother about stuff but his made me cry and were hard to get through.

I adored, loved and admire Maddie. Through out the  series I would of never thought her to be the strongest heroine. What she does in certain scenes for Flame just amazed me. That takes a strong woman to do what she would do for him. Her flashbacks were also hard to get through.

Thoughts: Wow! Why did it take me so long to read Real. Have you ever read a book you were so torn over your thoughts. That is what Real has done to me. I loved it but at the same time I had issues with it.

What I Loved:
Remy is what kept me swiping my kindle for more. I could not put it down. I needed to know how everything played out even though I knew what he was keeping from Brooke. He caught my attention right from the meet in the hotel. After that I just wanted to know more about him. Loved the sweet moments together with Brooke. Best part and what makes Remy a swoon worthy hero is he would do anything for her.

Loved that even though Brooke had no idea what was going on with Remy and was told many times to back off or leave him alone she did not. She fought hard and stood her ground and wanted to take care of him. I felt so bad for her when it came to her sister Nora. I was also nervous because I knew things were not going to go well on one of her decisions she made relating to her sister.

Fight scenes were a big part of the plot and were done perfectly. Loved Nora her sister plot line too. The last half the book was intense and bit emotional

What did not work for me:
Being in Brookes head. She was at times annoying. The repetitiveness use of words from her. All she ever thought about was how hot Remy is or how she was about to burst down below.

Since I was not a fan being in Brookes mind I did not like the 1st POV. Maybe I would of like it better if dual 1st POV.  I really wanted to feel what Remy was feeling. I wanted to experience all his ups and downs.

Overall Thoughts:
I wonder if I read this years ago if my thoughts would of been different as many things that bother me with this book would of not back then. Times past and my taste in what I like and dislike have changed. Many great reviews for Real and I totally understand how easily to fall in love with Remy and Brooke. Days after reading I still think about Real. I want more Remy but do not know if I could handle being in Brookes head again.

She’s everything he’s never wanted. He’s everything she’s never known

Scott Cole is a force to be reckoned with. As Vice President of the Storm Motorcycle Club he carries out his duties with a ruthless determination. He moves through life with a clear agenda - protect his club and his family at all costs.

He is intense.

He is loyal.

He is fierce.

He doesn’t give his love easily, but when he does, he loves fiercely. Settling down, however, has never been part of his plan.

Harlow James is a country girl who has never met a biker in her life. She is also done with men. In her experience all they ever do is lie, cheat or steal. When she meets Scott Cole she knows he is heartbreak on legs.

He is confident.

He is sexy.

He is bossy.

She knows she must fight her growing attraction to this complex man in order to guard her heart. When his world crashes into hers and danger comes calling, Scott’s fierce desire to protect kicks in and Harlow realises that she might just have found a man worth taking a risk on.
Rating: 4 Stars - Loved It

Thoughts: I liked Storm book one but did have a few issues. Being told instead of shown, good scenes brushed over and annoying heroine. I enjoyed author writing voice and storytelling but felt she was holding back. I knew I would be reading Scott's story in Fierce as he really saved the first book for me and was curious where this series is going.

Wow Scott's story had everything I was missing before. By 9% Scott had me swooning over his character. His neighbors daughter was a nice addition to the story. Played a good part in the story that helped see the softer side to him.  Everyone thinks he is an asshole but really he just tells how it is. He does not always have the best person skills. Only get one shot with him, does not apologize or forgive easy. As long as you do not cross him he will always have your back.

It was so easy to fall for Harlow's character. She is caring and a sweetheart.  Loved that she was there taking care of her mom. She might not understand the Biker life but when stuff gets bad she has no problem letting bad people get what they deserve.

I loved the slow burn romance. Sexual tension was amazing with a delicious dirty talking hero. Scott does not do relationships and really has no clue at it. No woman has ever challenged him until he met Harlow. They are so cute and fun together.

This is the second time now Nina Levine got me interested in a secondary character. Oh how I want Blades story.

Sin & Ink by Naima Simone
Series: Sweetest Taboo #1
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Publisher: Entangled

There's sin, and then there's literally going-straight-to-hell sin...

Being in lust with my dead brother's wife pretty much guarantees that one day I'll be the devil's bitch. But Eden Gordon works with me, so it's getting harder and harder to stay away. I promised my family — and him — I would, though.

My days as an MMA champion are behind me. But whenever I see her, with those wicked curves and soft mouth created for dirty deeds, it's a knock-down fight to just maintain my distance. "Hard Knox" becomes more than just the name of my tattoo shop. However, surrendering to the forbidden might be worth losing everything...
Thoughts:  I do not know if I ever read a book about lusting over a dead brothers wife. New to me author but I do have a book from another series from her.

Cover:  Yes this sexy cover with  all the tattoos got me one clicking to find out more info. Very simple and like the blue font against the matching background.

Burn For Me by Ilona Andrews
Series: Hidden Legacy #1
Genre: Romatic Urban Fantasy
Publisher: Avon on October 28, 2014
Pages: 406
Format:Kindle

#1 New York Times bestselling author Ilona Andrews launches a brand new Hidden Legacy series, in which one woman must place her trust in a seductive, dangerous man who sets off an even more dangerous desire…

Nevada Baylor is faced with the most challenging case of her detective career—a suicide mission to bring in a suspect in a volatile case. Nevada isn’t sure she has the chops. Her quarry is a Prime, the highest rank of magic user, who can set anyone and anything on fire.

Then she’s kidnapped by Connor “Mad” Rogan—a darkly tempting billionaire with equally devastating powers. Torn between wanting to run or surrender to their overwhelming attraction, Nevada must join forces with Rogan to stay alive.

Rogan’s after the same target, so he needs Nevada. But she’s getting under his skin, making him care about someone other than himself for a change. And, as Rogan has learned, love can be as perilous as death, especially in the magic world.
Rating: 5 Stars - Amazing

Thoughts: Can Rogan be anymore of an ass but at the same time sexy. He is unapologetic, stubborn, smartass  and love him for that. He does not make threats or promises he states facts. No one tells him no and thinks he can do whatever he wants. He does not feel rules apply to him. If he wants something he buys it. If he can not buy something he takes it. He has no sensitivity towards others. If he does something good for someone there is a reason that will benefit him. He is a powerful man in this world that the fabulous wife-husband writing team Ilona Andrews have created. For most of his traits I understand he is the way he is. You can not show weakness when you are high-powered. Now for some of his other traits I am curious about.  Lets not forget you annoy him and he will kill you simple as that. The best part I adore is how he loves to mess with Nevada.

"Maybe you should make me a list of people I can kill and ways in which they’re allowed to die," he said.

"You are not funny."

"I'm very funny. Just ask Peaches."

Nevada has some of the craziest thoughts about dragons relating to Rogan. The devotion and love she has for her family are amazing. She is opposite of Rogan as she has empathy for others. She does not think before she speaks that lead to some fun moments with Rogan. It was so easy to fall for her character. She has no problem telling Rogan no or putting him in his place.

"You seem to be under the impression that I work for you and you can give me orders. Let me fix that." I hung up.

I had so much fun reading Burn For Me. Action, humor, maybe a small burn romance in the making. Since Rogan and Nevada are working a case together he does have a good amount of page time. Their banter was entertaining and they had perfect chemistry.

"One school of thought says that the best way to handle an issue like this is exposure therapy," Mad Rogan said. "For example, if you're terrified of snakes, repeated handling of them will cure it."

Aha. "I'm not handling your snake."

He grinned. "Baby, you couldn't handle my snake."

Secondary characters were so much fun. Her family added so much to the story. Her grandma was my favorite. Look forward to reading book 2.

Sunday Post is a weekly recap hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer

Life: Hi everyone. I hope you all had a better week than I did. Not really a bad one just not a productive one at work and home. Last week kicked my butt mentally. Every time I tried to blog or even do house work I was constantly pulled in another direction for somebody else. I did accomplish one thing, exciting I was able to clean my bathroom LOL.

Books: Good news I did get some great deals on books last week. Always looking for a new shifter series.  I was excited for this box set deal by Cynthia Eden. I already have book 1 The Wolf Within I got for free a while back. Could not pass up the entire Purgatory series for .99 cents.  Free books and sale box set were still available at time of this post.

Hot vampires and alpha werewolves are waiting for you...Enter the sexy world of New York Times best-selling author Cynthia Eden’s “Purgatory” paranormal series. “The Beasts Inside” anthology contains the following titles:

THE WOLF WITHIN (Book 1)

FBI Special Agent Duncan McGuire spends his days—and his nights—tracking real-life monsters. He hunts the monsters, and he protects the innocent. Duncan just never expects to become a monster. But after a brutal werewolf attack, he begins to change.

Dr. Holly Young is supposed to help Duncan. It’s her job to keep him sane. But as Duncan’s beast grows stronger, the passion that she and Duncan have held carefully in check pushes to the surface. The desire that is raging between them could be a very dangerous thing…because Holly isn’t exactly human, not any longer.

As they give up more of their humanity and embrace the beasts within them both, they realize that the passion between them isn’t safe, it isn’t controllable, and their dark need may just be an obsession that could destroy them both.

MARKED BY THE VAMPIRE (Book 2)

The creatures that you fear in the darkness? They’re all real. And the baddest of the paranormals…those who love to hurt humans…they’re sent to Purgatory, the only paranormal prison in the U.S. Deadly forces are at work within Purgatory.

FBI Agent Shane August, a very powerful vampire with a dark past, is sent into the prison on an undercover assignment. His job is to infiltrate the vampire clan, by any means necessary.

Dr. Olivia Maddox wants to find out just why certain paranormals go bad. If she can understand the monsters, then Olivia thinks she can help them. When she gets permission to enter Purgatory, Olivia believes she is being given the research opportunity of a lifetime.

When the prisoners break loose, there is only one person—one vampire—who can protect her, but as Olivia and Shane fight the enemies that surround them, a dark and dangerous passion stirs to life between the doctor and the vamp. Some passions can push you to the very limits of your control…and the growing lust that she feels for her vampire…it’s sending her racing right into a deadly storm of desire.

CHARMING THE BEAST (Book 3)
Connor Marrok never intended to work for the Seattle Para Unit. He’s not one of the good guys—he’s a real monster. But now he finds himself being blackmailed into a new assignment. It’s supposed to be his last gig. His mission? Protect the beautiful Chloe Quick. Easy enough…until he starts to fall for Chloe.

Chloe is tired of being a prisoner. She wants to get away from her Para Unit guard and run fast into the night. So what if Connor is the sexiest guy she’s ever met? Chloe knows trouble when she sees it, and Connor is one big, dangerous package of trouble. But, when an obsessed werewolf begins stalking Chloe, she realizes that her paranormal bodyguard may just be the one man she needs the most.

DEAL WITH THE DEVIL (Book 4)
Eric Pate is used to making his own rules—as the director of the PARA Unit, he is the boss. Everyone rushes to obey his commands, and no one knows his secrets. No one ever gets too close to him. But then he meets her.

Ella Lancaster is tired of being a prisoner. She escaped one hell just to find herself in another, though Eric doesn’t consider her containment with his agents as punishment. He actually thinks it is a form of protection. But Eric is so very wrong. Ella doesn’t need protecting, not from anyone or anything.
