Valiant the hero is pushy, super possessive and protective with no patience. He is a super sexy Alpha hero that Tammy was able to bring to his knees. He is more animal than human and misunderstands a lot of things. Because of this he will have his little hissy fits. Tammy is always there to make sure he understands. I love how Tammy would stand up to Valiant and would usually get her way.

Lower... Lower..  Awe.. That's it. Loving this cover, his chest looks so smooth that I  want to run my hands down it and he is not too big.  Laurann Dohner has the best covers for her books especially the New Species series. Great series, a must for Erotic Paranormal romance fans. I am still on Justice, can not wait to read Tiger's story and look forward to reading Obsidian.

I have fallen in love with Tiger in Valiant book .  I have a few books to read in this series before I get to Tiger. This cover is just HAWT!!!  Here is a little teaser from Tiger excerpt on Ellora's Cave.

Valiant starts with a bang and never lets up. Wow it starts off with a human in his yard and his reaction to her. Perfect start to his book as I would not want it any other way. Valiant is introduce in Slade’s book #2. He is more animal than human and does not really like humans. This book has a nice mixture of action, love, anger and a good plot. It moves smoothly through out.

Valiant the hero is pushy, super possessive and protective with no patience. He is a super sexy Alpha hero that Tammy was able to bring to his knees. Loved how he would have his little jealous moments because of his animal and not so human side where he misunderstands things. It was nice to see he was still Alpha throughout the book but was finding his human side at the same time. When Valiant was angry, everyone around him felt it and when his feelings were hurt you felt it.

Tammy the heroine was sweet and strong as she always put Valiant in his place. She is a beautiful heroine who became friends with Breeze another New Species. She loved Valiant for his animal side and was able to bring out his human side. She never knew love and never had a family but was able to fall in love with Valiant, his family The New Species and considered them her family.

Great to see more characters from the previous book and introduce to new ones. Can not wait for Tiger's  story.

My Thoughts

I was not sure how I was going to like a Cyborg for the Hero. I am glad I gave this book a chance it was very good. I like the scene where Flint & Mira are seeing the doctor. Some find it not so nice, but I thought Laurann did a fine job with Flint being sincere blocking her from others viewng her. Granted later he does not block her from others viewing her but in the beginng he did. Got to think this is a fiction book so Flints character can be an A$$ with no emotions because that is only what these cyborgs know. I did enjoy how Mira was able to bring out the softer side in Flint. I hated/love one secondary character. Hated this character at the beginning but loved him towards the end. I am eager to read his story to see if he will find a love who will bring him to his knees. If you like your men Alpha with a good plot and loves scenes that are erotic give Burning Up Flint a chance.

My thoughts:

I really wanted to like this book. Actually stopped in the middle to try another 2 books from LD. So happy I did love her books. Well came back to Slade and the first half of the book kind of dragged, but the second part picked up and enjoyed it.

Pros:
First sex scene was fan your self sexy.
Slade smart mouth character was throughout book
Slade as alpha picked up
Huge twist that was amazing made the book so much better
Trisha friendship with other New Species memorable
Later on in book gets emotional and good

Cons:
The action in first half of book dragged on
Slade did not seem to alpha for me more of a smart mouth
Did not feel the connection for Slade and Trisha

I really wish I would of given Slade a chance the first time and read all at once. We meet Valiant who is the next in line for his own story (would of gotten a better feel of him before I read his book) and plus got to see Slade and Trisha. My loss. If new to LD stick to reading in order and give her a chance. They only get better as Valiant is an amazing read. These books can be stand alone and always know what is going on, but so much better to read in order as we meet new characters in books.

I can not wait for Tiger's story. Laurann has the best covers in her New Species series. They always have a sexy shirtless hero. I am thinking Tiger is my fave of them all. Not to bulky and love how he is wiping the sweat off his face with his shirt in front of a nice outdoor background. Yummy!!
