Spoil Free Review

Back when I started Psy-Changeling series I was and still am a huge Christine Feehan fan and it was her quote on the cover ("I love this book! It's a must read for all my fans.") that got me interested in wanting to read this series. Instantly fell in love with Psy-Changeling series and Nalini Singh writing style.

Slave To Sensation is one of those novels I would love to go back and read for the first time and experience the unique world between Changeling's and Psy that Nalini Singh has brilliantly created. Loved that she brought a mixture of sci fi and paranormal together. For me I have never and still have not read anything like this.

Loved the layers that were peeled away little by little in Sascha's character. She starts off emotionless and a bit spineless. But that is how she was raised. Enjoyed how she gradually showed her emotions and for sure got a backbone especially when it came to Lucas. Sascha is a sweetheart once it came to Lucas pack.

Now Lucas is what I love in my cat shifter heroes. He is protective of the ones he loves but is also a sweetheart. Working side by side with Sascha his cat and him become infatuated with her. He becomes possessive and protective of her. He  has an alpha male attitude but knows when to take down a notch when it comes to her. I loved that there is no insta love, readers are right along with these characters getting to know each other and rooting for them to become a couple and once they do they are hot fan your-self together.

 

Nalini Singh does an outstanding job at bringing many characters together with out taking away from the main characters. I love in my novels secondary characters and when done right add so much to the story line. All secondary characters play into her story line and she never bombards readers with too much info on them. She gives readers just  enough info to where readers want to know more about them. All the different characters with the mixed breeds, wolf and cat shifters and even the psy bring Slave To Sensation to life. Everyone has their own voice and personality. Even though this novel is Paranormal Romance her characters and world feel real. I love how they are all known to the world and live everyday life like real families.  For me I love mix breeds and the journey with Cat and Wolf Shifters working together to find the killer was at times a hoot.

 

Nalini Singh is the queen of Alpha Male heroes. I loved that there are many alpha males in her story and they never feel out of place. I have fallen a tad behind in Psy-Changeling series and excited I am able to partake in 2014 Psy-Changeling read a long hosted by Herding Cats & Burning Soup and Aly Miscellany. Look for forward to next up for Feb. Vaughn story in Visions of Heat (Psy-Changeling #2).

One of my favorite for shifter novels is mix breeds. If done right you will be in for a good novel getting a Feline and Wolf. Nalini Singh nailed it with Mercy (Cat shifter) and Riley (Wolf Shifter) in Branded By Fire. They are one of my favorite book couples. Love their banter through out the novel.

Why:

Nalini Singh is a talented writer with a beautiful writing voice. Love her Psy-Changeling series. I have many Wickedly Delicious Couples and Secretly Crushing on heroes from this series. This week my Wickedly Delicious Couple is Mercy & Riley.  My favorite shifters are Cat's and Wolves.  I  also love reading about mixed species in a Paranormal Romance. That usually leaves you with a good bickering novel. Mercy and Riley are both dominate, so their relationship is never boring.

 Love their little Innocent and fun bickering.

My Thoughts:

I think this is the sexiest cover  I have ever seen.  I love how it has just the hero Hawke shirtless with the blend of his wolf.  Hawke is the alpha wolf of his pack the SnowDancers.  The cover shows a very powerful hero.  It is a great love story for 2nd chances at love. 

I waited for ever for Hawke and Sienna to have their own story and it did not disappoint.  Sienna is a stubborn psy that never gives Hawke a break.   Poor Hawke has to hold his emotions for Sienna because he has already lost his mate and should not have feelings for Sienna. He is so Alpha but yet gentle and caring when it comes to Sienna.  He wants to protect her, but has to be hard so she will be a strong soldier for the SnowDancers. He is also gentle and caring by making sure she is okay from an incident she has with a SnowDancer.

Teaser:

"Where else are you hurt?"

"I'm fine."

His fingers tightened on her jaw. "Where else are you hurt?"

"You didn't ask Maria." Stubborn will in every word.

"Maria is a wolf, able to take a few times the damage of a Psy female and keep going." Which was the reason Sienna had been ordered not to get into physical confrontations with the wolves. That and the fact that she didn't have her lethal abilities under total control. "Either you answer the question, or I swear to God I really will put you in the pen." It would be the most humiliating of experiences and she knew it, every muscle in her body taut  with viciously withheld anger.

"Bruised ribs," she gritted out at last, "bruised abdomen, wrenched shoulder. Nothing's broken. It should all heal within the next week."

Dropping his grip on her chin, he said, "Hold out your arms."

A hesitation.

The wolf growled, loud enough that she flinched. "Sienna, I've given you a long leash since you came into the pack, but that ends today." Insubordination from a juvenile could be punished and forgiven. In an adult, in a soldier, it was far more serious matter. Sienna was nineteen going on twenty, a ranked novice-letting her actions slide wasn't even an option. "Hold out your fucking arms."

Just think this is just a teaser three pages into the story. It only gets better...hotter...and sexier.

Okay I can not wait til May 29th for Riaz and Adria story.  I was loving the excerpt on her Website and that was only a sneak peak at chapter one. Now I found this and oh my... there is no way I can wait that long. Oh its gonna be good.

Alpha Hero of the Month: Dmitri

Wow had a hard time picking my Alpha Hero of the month. I knew it was going to be a hero  from Nalini Singh since she is my Author of the month but oh my was it hard as I had to choose between my three fave heroes, Raphael (Angels Blood), Hawke (Kiss of Snow) and Dmitri (Archangel's Blade).  Well as you can see I picked Dmitri.  I know this book has mixed reviews because some wanted more than what they got. I loved his story and would not want it any other way.

We meet Dmitri in Angels Blood (Guild Hunter series #1). He is Archangel Raphael's sexy right hand man vampire who is dark and mysterious with a sick sense of humor.

“I can smell blood, Elena,” Dmitri drawled, walking back into the room. “Are you trying to flirt?” (Angels Blood)

Dmitri has stayed dark and mysterious through all the Guild Hunter series so when his story came out we got to find out why he is this way. Seeing him have a past with love and happiness was heart wrenching. He never changed through out the book. He was the same old Dmitri with his little remarks.

“Ever had a woman say no to you, Dmitri?”

“Once.” He turned the corner with a smile that made her want to cup his face, trace those beautiful lips with her own. “I married her.”  (Archangel's Blade)

I picked Dmitri as my Alpha Male Hero because not only is he loyal to Archangel Raphael and will do anything to protect him, he will also do anything to protect Honor.

To get a real feel of Dmitri you have to read the series from the beginning (Angels Blood #1) as he plays a good roll in all of them.  In my opinion you will appreciate him more in his story (Archangel's Blade #4)

Author of the Month: Nalini Singh

I have to give a big shout out this month to  Nalini Singh for writing amazing books. Her books are always fresh with new story lines and never repetitive or boring.  Love her Psy/Changeling series and was so excited and nervous when she came out with her Guild Hunter Series. I was excited to have a different series from her, but also nervous because some authors tend to change their writing style when they  do a different series.  Not in this case. She out did herself with the Guild Hunter Series. The Guild Hunter series might be a little on the dark side compare to her Psy/Changeling Series but she still writes with Love, Passion and her characters are beautiful that they come to life. So Nalini please do not change a thing. you and your books are perfect the way they are. If anything I need more sooner then the release dates. She is auto buy for me in Paperback only. I can not buy her e-books. I will only have paperback for my collection.

If you have not already read Nalini Singh, you are missing out on a great author and awesome books with good plots and yummy alpha heroes.  Her books are a must read for all Paranormal Fans. Highly recommend her books. You will be hooked from book one in each series and will not be able to get enough of the heroes and their mates or love ones.

My Thoughts:

 I think Raphael and Elena are the hottest couple in Paranormal Romance. Their books in  my opinion can go on for ever. I can not get enough of them. The sexual tension between these two is smoking hot!

Lust in her throat, brutal and demanding. "But then, we both know about my self-destructive streak." Stepping away, she put her back to the wall and faced him, willing her body to stop readying itself for penetration she'd never allow. "I have no desire to be your chew-toy."

The lines on his face might've been starkly masculine, but at that instant, his lips were pure temptation, soft, bitable, sensual in a way only a man's mouth could be. "If I were to splay you out on my desk and thrust my fingers into you right now, I think I'd find different."

Now let the games begin. Elena is not your spineless heroine. She kicks butt.

The Message was pinned to the side of the elevator doors, held up by a nail that had been driven in with enough force that concrete dust littered  the ground.

You want to play, angel boy? Then let's play. Find me.

Is this enough to bump it up on your TBR pile? This is a awesome series that should not be missed for all Paranormal Romance fans that love a sexy alpha Angel and a kickbutt heroine. Never a dull moment with these two.  After this book you will be hooked on Angels and checking out every book with an Angel hero hoping he will be as good as Raphael.
