Thoughts: Chase Me has to be my favorite, cutest first time meet with the hero/heroine. Tessa Bailey books are my go to when in need of a easy read with delicious heroes.

Roxy and Louis were so cute together. They had fun banter, playful flirting, great chemistry and some hot sexual tension going on. It was refreshing to read about a striving actress heroine and her reasons.

Her friends / room mates and his friends were fun all so different in personalities. I enjoyed all their page time too. They all had me smiling.

After watching the mini series trailer for Confess I had to bump it up on my TBR pile ASAP.  Colleen Hoover is a mastermind when it comes to originality. I loved the confessions and actual paintings.

 

Well I did not love Confess has much I was hoping for. On the other hand I did not hate it either. What happened to her alpha male heroes I love to read about. Emory who is Auburn's best girlfriend has more balls than Owen. I understand why Owen at times did have to stand down but I really needed him on quite a few occasions do some serious ass kicking. I was actually shocked a few times he did not step in. In one scene I actually did not like him for not stepping in.

 

I was missing the sexual tension and  couple chemistry Colleen Hoover is known for in her books. Owen and Auburn were cute and a bit awkward together. I liked it but was still not always feeling their chemistry.  I loved and respected them as individuals. They are both selfless and the sacrifices they endure for their loved ones is sad and beautiful.

 

Confess is broken down in Two Parts. Part One was boring. I kept waiting for something major to happen and nothing did until the last chapter. Part Two was a bit better than Part One as I could not swipe my kindle fast enough but still I needed some situations to be dealt with more.

 

Overall Confess was not a bad read. I did feel that there was too many serious themes happening.  I felt a lot of  times certain scenarios were rushed and not fleshed out. I was really shocked by this because Colleen Hoover is a amazing story teller who can bring out different emotions. Confess should of been one of those books where I could laugh, cry, get angry and go all fan girl on the hero. Unfortunately the execution and emotions were not there for me.

 

I think this will be one of those occasions where I will like the on-screen better.

The blurb for True automatically caught my attention with  friends hiring a tattoo bad boy to help their friend Rory lose her virginity with out her knowing. To me this screamed lies and betrayal and usually with that kind of mixture get an intense read. To my disappointment that did not happen.

The books started off with me already disliking Rory and her girlfriends. The inner thoughts going through Rory head while almost getting raped and the fact that her girlfriends did not even go back to the dorm with her to comfort her was a big turn off. Before all this Rory annoyed to me no end with her negative inner thinking about herself and everything around her. I guess I should of known I was not going to like her friends I mean after all what kind of best friends would hire someone to take away another friend virginity. I get she is insecure and had almost everyone crap on her, whole entire life. But she did not grow with the novel.

Tyler was okay nothing to swoon over.  Yes he said the right things that were sweet but where was that tatted up bad boy. Yes he loved his brothers and tried his hardest to take care of them since their home life really sucked. Yes he is pierced down below and that is sexy but the outcome of the sex scenes were boring and nothing to get all hot and bothered about. Do not get me wrong I have read many NA novels that have somewhat lacked in the sex department but at least the sexual tension was hot enough or the plot execution was good to at least outcome the bad sexing. There was no build up or sexual tension.

As the story progress it dealt with a lot of real issues lies, betrayal, drug addiction, almost rape. But the outcome for all was rushed and unbelievable. I did not get to feel their pain and heart ache. I will admit I did feel a little for Tyler when he brought Rory home to deal with his drug addict mother. He did break my heart when he was trying to comfort his mom and the terrible things she said to his younger brother who has Down Syndrome, but then it was rushed.

I almost did not finish at 50% when Grant who almost rapes Rory wants to apologize and everyone is okay with it even Tyler. I was so disappointed by the outcome when Rory found out about her friends paying Tyler to sleep with her. Because of this I  needed to find out how, when and reactions were going to be like when Tyler finds out Rory knows. A another huge disappointment. The ending was also rushed.

True should of had some angst and drama with all the issues it had going on but the execution for all was poorly done. For me when reading a NA story that is going to have real issues I need the angst and drama that comes along with it,  sadly this series is not for me

Killing Sarai for me started off a bit slow. I love J.A. Redmerski writing voice but this is the second novel I have read by her that takes a bit for something to happen that "wows" me. In Killing Sarai  when the wow moment hit boy does it hit hard with an edge of your seat, nail biting moment readers do not know what is going to happen next or who to trust.  From there on out it is a hard novel to put down.

 

Sarai has seen and been through a lot in her life that has left her numb to danger.  She is unstable and is good at hiding it from everyone and herself. She is a ticking bomb ready to explode. She is not discipline and is more dangerous than Victor who is a killer.

 

I am crushing on Victor at this moment. I do love those dark heroes and Oh My he is on the darker side. With him you never know if he wants to kill her or fuck her. He has lived a dark lonely life with solitude and death. He is emotional unattached to anyone and anything. He just might have met his match with Sarai.

 

I loved both characters as individuals and adore them more together. They are perfect for each other and can relate to each other considering what have they have been through in their lives. I did fine the sexual tension not as steamy has I have read another novel by J.A. Redmerski but it did fit well with their situation and the plot line. Their intimate time together is hot fan your self and fit well with Victor's dark side.

 

Love the ending, it is not a HEA or jaw dropping cliffhanger but a good way to start the next novel in the series. I do look forward to see what J.A. Redmerski has in store for her fans,

Spoil Free Review

Breaking Nova is my first read by Jessica Sorensen and to be honest I really had a hard time connecting with Nova and Quinton. I set this novel down many times as I could not get into the writing style. Breaking Nova starts out flat for me as almost every paragraph starts with "I,  I'm, We, She, Her, He, His" etc. 

 

It starts off in the prologue with both Nova and Quinton incidents that made them the way they are today. They are both Broken, Confused and Lost characters.  About 40% into Breaking Nova is when I finally started to feel a little connection with them. That is when the flashbacks start happening and readers get to visualize what really happened.  The flashbacks are well written and wish the story was written in that way, more visual and with depth. Quinton uses drugs as an escape from his incident. After reading his first flashback who could blame him for turning to drugs as an out. It was painful and my heart broke for him. 

 

Now for Nova one thing I wanted so badly was for her to click on that "file" she has saved from her incident. Do not want to give any spoilers but if you read Breaking Nova then you will understand what I am talking about. That "File" broke my heart. 

 

Breaking Nova is a dark novel dealing with the affects of tragedy. It is not faint for the heart or a HEA read. I have a few of my downs with the novel but I loved the direction it was going towards the end.  Book 2 is for sure on my To-Buy-list come February.

Welcome to Sugartown starts off light, fun with some giggle moments but then turns into a dark read with rape and cheating. This will be one of those novels you either love it or hate it. As for me I loved it. Not many authors would be able to pull this off  but Carmen Jenner did a well around great job. She has her own unique writing voice that was easy to get caught up into. The dual POV between Ana and Elijah flowed nicely between the scenes where needed. 

Right from the start Ana and Elijah have chemistry and I was right there with Ana falling for the tattoo-biker riding-bad boy. Elijah and I did have a love/hate relationship through out the novel. By the end of their journey I was in love with his character all over again. What I loved most about his character is the great lengths he will go through to protect and get revenge for the girl he loves. Carmen Jenner knows how to write a yummy alpha male hero that is all about actions and not meaningless  words. 

Ana is a spitfire that can hold her own with her over protective father and Elijah. She is a virgin but was just as sexy in the bedroom department as Elijah was. Wish I had Elijah whispering naughty words in my ear from his dirty talking mouth during those yummy steamy-cold-shower- needed moments.

The secondary characters added so much to the novel. I absolutely loved her father. He was tough and had no problems letting Elijah know what would happen if he broke his little girls heart. Holly her best friend was a bit on the out of control, crazy side and did love their times together as there is never a dull moment with them.  As for Jackson, Ana's cousin who is also a yummy alpha male hero, would like to know more about him. Curious what is going on through his sexy little head when it comes to Holly.

There is no cliffhanger or epilogue so do not know where this series is going but I am hoping Jackson and Holly have their own story next. If not, I do not mind having more Ana and Elijah as well. Welcome To Sugartown is a good start to a great series.

Maybe This Time delicious cover caught my attention, *Click* then the synopsis had me wanting to know more about these brother’s friends that are wild, protective, secretive and always around. *Click* bought it, read it in one sitting and now found my self a New Adult Series I want more of.

 

I am finding out with more novels that do not give too much in the synopsis are turning out to be 5 star reads for me. Now these brother's friends are just that, wild, protective, secretive and always around.  These guys do not understand what the word "knock" means or personal space. They are Tattoo-Biker Riding-Bad boys with Alpha Male attitudes but also sweethearts. Never a dull moment with them and never took away from  Reid the hero and Summer the heroine story.  They are all part of the story and look forward to reading more with them.

 

I do not want to give anything away. I can write forever about what I loved about Maybe This Time but truly you need to read it and experience it for your self. It is not an intense read but has some giggle, swoon worthy moments with hot fan your self scenes, also some heart broken moments with nicely peeled away layers.

 

I loved how the story started and was hooked till the end with many surprises. Maybe This Time is wrapped up nicely with no cliffhanger. But there was a little surprise towards the end with Ryan who is Reid's brother that got my attention. Thank you to Chantal Fernando for giving readers a sneak peak at his story which is up next and that is having me wanting more.

Going into Ten Tiny Breaths I really had  no idea what to expect. The synopsis is perfect as not really giving too much away. What I got was a emotional, intense read with love, betrayal, mystery with a lot of twist and turns that I could not put it down. K.A. Tucker has a beautiful writing voice and is a master story teller who has a new fan.

 

K.A. Tucker did a amazing job at bringing all characters to life with different personalities. The heroine Kacey is broken but is not the wimpy type to back down from anybody. Before her accident she was the sweet, fun loving Kacey. After her accident she became the smartass do not let any one in. Considering what she went through who would not be.

 

"Sorry, can you specify - what qualifies as an orgy in the State of Florida? Are threesomes okay? What if blow-ups are involved, 'cause you know..."

 

Mostly in novels it is the hero who is swoon worthy. Who go above and beyond for someone they love. I found Kasey a swoon worthy heroine as she took her sister Livie  away from a terrible household to give her a better life. Kacey puts her life on hold to make sure her sister lives a good life. Livie and Kacey journey to a new life was very touching, sad and felt so real. Livie is the only one that knows the real Kacey and does everything in her power to make the wall Kacey has built around her come down and of course with help of Trent.

 

Now Trent I did not fall in love with his character right away. That is not a bad thing it is just that he was a bit mysterious in the beginning. Nicely paced through out the novel I fell more in love with him  He is your tattoo-biker riding, alpha male hero who will do anything to protect her and  break down her wall she has built around her. He is obsessed in making her happy. 

 

"I want to make you smile. For real. Always. We're going to go for dinners, and see movies, and walk on the beach. We'll go hang gliding, or bungee jumping, or what ever you want to do. What ever makes you smile and laugh more." His fingers toy with my bottom lip. "Let me make you smile."

The sexual tension is hot and nicely done through out that leaves for a hot fan your self read.  They do have their ups and downs. Wow when they have down moments is tears me apart but when they have their good moments  I can not help but get all giddy.

"I don't hate you. I could never hate you. Give me your heart, Kacey. I'll take everything that comes with it."

The secondary characters add so much to the story and never take away from  Kacey and Trent's story. There is the female stripper, sexy strip joint owner, crazy shrink (I mean that in a good way) and Kacey sister Livie.  I loved Livie the most but still there is so much more to her I want to know. Since this is Kacey story and we see how she deals with her parents death I am curious to know how it really effects Livie. Thank goodness her story is up next. 

 

Not only perfect story but the cover is beautiful.



Ten Tiny Breaths has layers that are nicely peal away. Loved that K.A. did not bombard readers all at once with Kacey accident. Readers learn what really happened little by little through flash backs that fit in perfectly with the story. 

 

I highly recommend Ten Tiny Breaths if looking for a superb New Adult read that has romance with many twist and turns. Ten Tiny Breaths series is now one of my favorites. After reading Ten Tiny Breaths had to buy Ten Tiny Lies ASAP. Do not worry Ten Tiny Breath does not end in a cliffhanger just that I fell in love with K.A. writing style and story telling I needed more. And to my surprise her other series Causal Enchantment book 1 Anathema is Free on Amazon. Of course I had to get that as well. Look forward to reading more novels by K.A. Tucker.

 OMG!!! I am still in shocked on how The Edge Of Never turned out. It starts out for me as a 3 star likable novel and then bang a huge surprise I never saw coming that had me crying like crazy and had me on the edge of my seat. For sure a 4 star - Loved it read.

The beginning is nice and flows smooth, enjoyed the characters but I did feel like it was really not going anywhere with the story. I needed that one moment where I did not see coming and Bam I was hooked til the end.

J.A. Redmerski knows how to write some steamy-cold-shower-needed scenes with a yummy tattoo-alpha male hero. Andrew knows how to bring out Camryn sexy side in and out of the bedroom with his delicious dirty-talking mouth. I look forward to their next journey in The Edge Of Always (The Edge Of Never #2).
