Under Fire by Scarlett Cole
Series: Love Over Duty #1
Publisher: St. Martin's Paperbacks
Genre: Romantic Suspense
HE CAN TAKE THE HEAT.
Hot, hard-bodied Sixten Rapp is a former SEAL who’s raring to begin his brand-new civilian life. He and his Navy “brothers” start a security firm that offers the kind of services only a team of military-trained professionals can provide. But nothing prepared Six for his new client: an innocent woman on a mission to improve thousands of lives. . . unless someone takes hers first.
CAN SHE HANDLE THE FLAMES?
Dr. Louisa North knows time is against her as she tries to create a “miracle” medical treatment for a disease with no known cure, until she creates a sample so powerful that the wrong people want to use it as a chemical weapon. At first, Six is unwilling to accept Louisa as his client. But soon he realizes that the danger is real and that there’s much more to this plain-Jane scientist…including a burning passion between them that neither of them can resist. And now that an enemy is on Louisa’s trail, Six will do whatever it takes to protect her—or die trying.
Thoughts: I would have no problems visualizing a hot, hard bodied Sixten Rapp while reading Under Fire. Navy "brothers" that start a security firm has got me wanting this soon. Usually with former military books you get that comradeship with the team I just loved to read about.
Such a sexy cover that you have shared here, and man I love a man in a tank, so sexy, love those arms and shoulders. Military romances are awesome to read though :)
ReplyDeleteOh I can look at his arms all day.
DeleteThis one sounds like I would really like it. Cover is pretty great too. Great series. I like starting with the first. I hate feeling lost. Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteI usually like starting with the first. Especially if the author has secondary characters that are part of the story. Helps get to know them and excited for their books. But I have done some books in series out of order and so far the ones I did read I was not lost.
DeleteI've never been a big fan of the military romance! I don't know what it is, but they've never appealed to me. I'm glad they work for you, though! I hope the inside is just as lusty as the outside! ;)
ReplyDeleteDo You Dog-ear?
I have a few romance trope that not a fan of and like you I do not know what it is that do not appeal to me. Sometimes it drives me a little crazy because I really can not pin point why.
DeleteNice arms *smirks* I've recently purchased her Second Circle Tattoos series, but I think I'm gonna add this one to my list as well because I do enjoy military books and, as you know, I really like romantic suspense ;)
ReplyDeleteI have seen her Second Circle Tattoos series too. I do love a tattoo artist.
DeleteYes please! :D hehehe
ReplyDeleteThat is a real nice cover :)
ReplyDeleteI think so too.
