Moving in with my half-brother Xander, I had no idea what to expect.
But nothing could have prepared me for this.
My brother’s friends are wild, protective, secretive, always around.
And drop dead gorgeous.
Out of all of them, there's something about Reid Knox.
Brooding, temperamental, guarded…
And I want him more than anything I have ever wanted in my life.

"You think you can take some guy, fuck him there and then I'll let him live?"  - Reid

Maybe This Time delicious cover caught my attention, *Click* then the synopsis had me wanting to know more about these brother’s friends that are wild, protective, secretive and always around. *Click* bought it, read it in one sitting and now found my self a New Adult Series I want more of.

I am finding out with more novels that do not give too much in the synopsis are turning out to be 5 star reads for me. Now these brother's friends are just that, wild, protective, secretive and always around.  These guys do not understand what the word "knock" means or personal space. They are Tattoo-Biker Riding-Bad boys with Alpha Male attitudes but also sweethearts. Never a dull moment with them and never took away from  Reid the hero and Summer the heroine story.  They are all part of the story and look forward to reading more with them.

I do not want to give anything away. I can write forever about what I loved about Maybe This Time but truly you need to read it and experience it for your self. It is not an intense read but has some giggle, swoon worthy moments with hot fan your self scenes, also some heart broken moments with nicely peeled away layers.

I loved how the story started and was hooked till the end with many surprises. Maybe This Time is wrapped up nicely with no cliffhanger. But there was a little surprise towards the end with Ryan who is Reid's brother that got my attention. Thank you to Chantal Fernando for giving readers a sneak peak at his story which is up next and that is having me wanting more.

"You confuse me," I reply, averting my gaze.

He laughs humourlessly, sitting down next to me. "I can't even explain it. There's something about you."

We watch each other in silence for a few moments.

Reid clears his throat. "I should get you home."

"Okay I say. But we don't move.

"Summer..." he trails off, staring at my lips. I move a little close to him, and he moves the rest of the way so there is no space left between us.

"Are you going to kiss me?" I whisper, arrested in his blue gaze.

"I don't think that's a good idea." he whispers back his eyes dropping to my mouth.

"Good ideas are overrated," I say breathily. I lick my lips, and his breath hitches.

He emits a low curse before capturing my lips with his, his hands in my hair. I open for him, and then he groans as he tastes me. When he starts to suck on my bottom lip, I shudder with pleasure.

Just breathe, Kacey. Ten tiny breaths. Seize them. Feel them. Love them.

Four years ago Kacey Cleary’s life imploded when her car was hit by a drunk driver, killing her parents, boyfriend, and best friend. Still haunted by memories of being trapped inside, holding her boyfriend’s lifeless hand and listening to her mother take her last breath, Kacey wants to leave her past behind. Armed with two bus tickets, twenty-year-old Kacey and her fifteen-year-old sister, Livie, escape Grand Rapids, Michigan, to start over in Miami. Struggling to make ends meet, Kacey needs to figure out how to get by. But Kacey’s not worried. She can handle anything—anything but her mysterious neighbor in apartment 1D.

Trent Emerson has smoldering blue eyes, deep dimples, and he perfectly skates that irresistible line between nice guy and bad boy. Hardened by her tragic past, Kacey is determined to keep everyone at a distance, but their mutual attraction is undeniable and Trent is determined to find a way into Kacey’s guarded heart—even if it means that an explosive secret could shatter both their worlds.

Spoil Free Review:

Going into Ten Tiny Breaths I really had  no idea what to expect. The synopsis is perfect as not really giving too much away. What I got was a emotional, intense read with love, betrayal, mystery with a lot of twist and turns that I could not put it down. K.A. Tucker has a beautiful writing voice and is a master story teller who has a new fan.

K.A. Tucker did a amazing job at bringing all characters to life with different personalities. The heroine Kacey is broken but is not the wimpy type to back down from anybody. Before her accident she was the sweet, fun loving Kacey. After her accident she became the smartass do not let any one in. Considering what she went through who would not be.

"Sorry, can you specify - what qualifies as an orgy in the State of Florida? Are threesomes okay? What if blow-ups are involved, 'cause you know..."

Mostly in novels it is the hero who is swoon worthy. Who go above and beyond for someone they love. I found Kasey a swoon worthy heroine as she took her sister Livie  away from a terrible household to give her a better life. Kacey puts her life on hold to make sure her sister lives a good life. Livie and Kacey journey to a new life was very touching, sad and felt so real. Livie is the only one that knows the real Kacey and does everything in her power to make the wall Kacey has built around her come down and of course with help of Trent.

Now Trent I did not fall in love with his character right away. That is not a bad thing it is just that he was a bit mysterious in the beginning. Nicely paced through out the novel I fell more in love with him  He is your tattoo-biker riding, alpha male hero who will do anything to protect her and  break down her wall she has built around her. He is obsessed in making her happy.

"I want to make you smile. For real. Always. We're going to go for dinners, and see movies, and walk on the beach. We'll go hang gliding, or bungee jumping, or what ever you want to do. What ever makes you smile and laugh more." His fingers toy with my bottom lip. "Let me make you smile."

The sexual tension is hot and nicely done through out that leaves for a hot fan your self read.  They do have their ups and downs. Wow when they have down moments is tears me apart but when they have their good moments  I can not help but get all giddy.

"I don't hate you. I could never hate you. Give me your heart, Kacey. I'll take everything that comes with it."

The secondary characters add so much to the story and never take away from  Kacey and Trent's story. There is the female stripper, sexy strip joint owner, crazy shrink (I mean that in a good way) and Kacey sister Livie.  I loved Livie the most but still there is so much more to her I want to know. Since this is Kacey story and we see how she deals with her parents death I am curious to know how it really effects Livie. Thank goodness her story is up next.

Not only perfect story but the cover is beautiful.

Ten Tiny Breaths has layers that are nicely peal away. Loved that K.A. did not bombard readers all at once with Kacey accident. Readers learn what really happened little by little through flash backs that fit in perfectly with the story.

I highly recommend Ten Tiny Breaths if looking for a superb New Adult read that has romance with many twist and turns. Ten Tiny Breaths series is now one of my favorites. After reading Ten Tiny Breaths had to buy Ten Tiny Lies ASAP. Do not worry Ten Tiny Breath does not end in a cliffhanger just that I fell in love with K.A. writing style and story telling I needed more. And to my surprise her other series Causal Enchantment book 1 Anathema is Free on Amazon. Of course I had to get that as well. Look forward to reading more novels by K.A. Tucker.

Ana Belle never wanted anything more than to hang up her apron, jump on her Vespa and ride off into the sunset, leaving Sugartown in the dust.

Elijah Cade never wanted anything more than a hot meal, a side of hot arse and a soft place to lay his head at night where he could forget about his past.

But you know what they say about wanting: you always want what you can’t have.

Nineteen year-old virgin Ana is about to discover that’s not quite true because a six foot three, hotter than hell, tattooed, Aussie sex god just rode into town. He’s had a taste of her pie and he wants more– no really, Ana bakes pies for a living, get your mind out of the gutter.

She’d be willing to hand over everything tied up in a big red bow, there’s just one problem; Elijah has secrets dirtier than last week’s underwear. Secrets that won't just break Ana’s heart, but put her life at risk, too. When those secrets come to light, their relationship is pushed to breaking point.

Add to that a psychotic nympho best friend, an overbearing father, a cuter than humanly possible kid brother, a wanton womanizing cousin, the ex from hell, and more pies than you could poke a ... err ... stick ... at.

And you thought small towns were boring.

Welcome to Sugartown.

*Content Warning. Intended for a mature 18+ audience. Contains explicit sex, oodles of profanity and a crap-tonne of AWKWARD.

Loved The Proposition. I have the hawts for sexy ex-MC fighter Sloane. She has panic attacks (not over dramatic attacks that go on for ever), due to a bad incident from her past. Sloane is teaching her to fight back and protect her self.  While they are training if it is too much and do not want to go any further she either has to say stop or tap out. Tap anywhere on him 3 times and he will know to stop.  In this scene they are getting hot and heavy in the gym on the break room table. I love that he thinks of her first and does not push her and is very blunt with his naughty mouth about what  is going to happen next. Sorry lovelies must read to see what they are doing on the table and if she taps out.

"I won't stop, Kat. I'll rip these pants off you and lick you until you're screaming. And then I'll fuck you right here on the table in the gym." He closed his eyes, straining. Then opened them. "Tap goddammit."

by Jennifer Lyon

Rich, sexy and volatile, Sloane Michaels has a dark agenda that keeps his heart on ice. His extreme wealth gives him the control he craves and his skills as an ex UFC fighter the tools he’ll need to extract his ultimate revenge. But when the woman he never believed he’d see again crosses his path, Sloane is caught between the vengeance he needs and a sexual conquest he craves.

Kat Thayne has been in survival mode for six years, hiding behind the sweet creations for her bakery. But when a random carjacking brings her face-to-face with her darkest fears and hottest fantasy, Kat is forced out of hiding and offered a dangerously passionate proposition. One she knows she isn’t strong enough to refuse.

This novella is a companion novel to the Hopeless series, but can be read as a standalone. A chance encounter in the dark leads eighteen-year-old Daniel and the girl who stumbles across him to profess their love for each other. But this love comes with conditions: they agree it will only last one hour and it will only be make-believe.

When their hour is up and the girl rushes off like Cinderella, Daniel tries to convince himself that what happened between them only seemed perfect because they were pretending it was perfect. Moments like that with girls like her don’t happen outside of fairytales.

One year and one bad relationship later, his disbelief in insta-love is stripped away the day he meets Six: a girl with a strange name and an even stranger personality. Daniel soon realizes the way he pretended to feel about Cinderella and the way he really feels about Six may not be so different after all. Especially when the two loves of his life end up being one in the same.

Unfortunately for Daniel, finding Cinderella doesn’t guarantee their happily ever after…it only further threatens it.

I am hooked on Dark Protectors series by Rebecca Zanetti. Jase story Shadowed #6 is another 5 star read in this series. Could not resist had to give 2 quote-tastic moments because not only I fall in love with the main hero/heroine I always get excited when the brothers are together.

Love it when the Kayrs brothers go all caveman on their mates.

Shadowed (Dark Protectors, #6)

"What Now?" The second the words left her mouth, she knew they were a mistake.

"Now?" Jase lowered his face to within an inch of hers. "Now we discuss the fact that you disobeyed a direct order."

She opened her mouth to argue, and he held up a hand.

"No." He shook his head. "Don't tell me you're not a soldier. When it comes to battle, when it comes to safety, you'll obey every damn order I give. Do. You. Understand?"

Was he forgetting her gifts? She could make a bloomin' fire if she wanted to. Someday she'd be able to control it again. "No."

He stilled. The air vibrated around him, but he didn't move. Slowly, his eyes darkened to midnight. "What did you just say?"

A chill skittered down her spine. She swallowed. "I, ah, said no."

Just like that, she was over his shoulder again. "Damn it, Jase"

(Kane)..."Why don't we get rid of that trigger for good?

"Sounds Like a Plan." Jase took a deep breath. "I'm ready."

A knock echoed on the door, and Dage poked his head in. "How's it going?"

"Just started," Kane said.

Jase rubbed both hands down his face. "Any news from the prisoner we took from Seattle?"

"Not yet." Dage eyed Kane. "You going to hypnotize him and delete the trigger?"

"That's the plan," Kane said.

"See if you can make him be not such an ass." Dage shut the door.

Jase grimaced. "He's pissed."

I have never read anything by J.C. Emery and she has a book coming out October 28th, Ride (Bayonet Scars #1) that I really want to read. So I thought since a new author to me I would like to sample one of her other novels and get a feel of her writing voice. I know this book 2 in Men With Badges series but the blurb caught my attention more than book 1. Figured since it is a sample and just want to get a feel for her I thought it could not hurt as being 2nd book in a series. Have not sampled The Switch yet but hoping do so before Ride comes out. The cover is drool worthy.

USA Today bestselling author, Karina Halle, brings you the final installment in her sexy, action-packed, Artists Trilogy contemporary romance series.

The Faster They Live, the Harder They Fall . . .
Raised by con artists, Ellie Watt has a lot of crazy childhood memories-but none crazier than being scarred with acid by the demented crime boss Travis Raines. Now Ellie is a full-grown woman who lives for revenge, and Travis is a full-blown drug lord who kills for pleasure. The sadistic bastard has kidnapped her good friend Gus as well as her mother, whom he's been holding as prized possessions in his heavily guarded lair. And Ellie has only one chance in hell of getting them out alive-using two dangerous men who love her to death . . .

One is Camden McQueen, a talented tattoo artist who's made a permanent mark on Ellie's heart. The other is Javier Bernal, her fiery ex-lover who's busted more than a few heads in his time. From the crime-ridden streets of Mexico City to the predatory jungles of Honduras, this unlikely trio forms an uneasy alliance in the deadliest game of all-a gun-blazing battle to the finish that will pit enemy against enemy and lover against lover. And Ellie must choose the right man to trust . . . or die.

I have been hooked on The Artists Trilogy since the beginning, sad to see it coming to an end but like all series there is a time when it needs to end. The plot for this series has been true since the beginning. Loved that Karina Halle never swayed from the main plot.  Kudos to Karina Halle for a well put together series that was never over it expiration of needing to end. The Artists Trilogy series was just the right amount of novels that flowed smoothly together with beautiful, well put together covers that start with Ellie on it and end with her on it.

Bold Tricks had me on the edge of my seat with the kick butt action, twist and turns that I never knew where it is was going. I do not think I have talked so much to a book before. Especially with  two scenes that Karina had me  almost in tears and saying "Karina what have you done" then I could not  swipe my kindle fast enough saying "Karina please tell me you did not just do this".  I loved having Camden, Ellie and Javier together.  Never a dull moment with them. Even had me giggling a few times.

Karina Halle is extremely talented in the "Love Triangle" department. The best is I never knew who Ellie would pick. Even towards the end when I knew Ellie had made her choice I still was not sure since Karina Halle loves to throw many surprises towards her readers.  I started this series with On Every Street (The Artists Trilogy 0.5)  and fell in love with Javier. Then in Sins & Needles (The Artists Trilogy #1) I fell head over heals with  Camden. To my shock with Shooting Scars (The Artists Trilogy #2) I was torn between Javier and Camden. So going  in to Bold Tricks (The Artists Trilogy #3) I was really not rooting for one or the other. I went into it knowing which ever lover Ellie picked I would be happy.

Loved how it all turned out with Javier, Ellie and Camden. Karina Halle did a phenomenal job in the direction the characters went. Thank you Karina Halle for the best ending to a fabulous series with  a perfect Epilogue.

Anthony Rawlings had a plan—to teach Claire Nichols to behave.

Claire Nichols had a plan—to survive!

In an unfamiliar bedroom within a luxurious mansion, Claire Nichols wakes to memories of a brutal abduction. All of her recollections have one common denominator, the man she just met—Anthony Rawlings. Unbeknownst to Claire, Anthony has had her in his sights for a long time. Every action has consequences—and his actions resulted in their chance meeting.

Facing incomprehensible circumstances, Claire must learn to survive as she comes to terms with her new reality—every aspect of her livelihood is now dependent upon the tall, dark-haired, dark-eyed tycoon. Anthony may appear to the world as a prosperous, benevolent, kind businessman, but in reality Claire learns he is also a menacing, controlling captor with very strict rules: do as your told, public failure is not an option, and don’t divulge private information. Failure to follow these rules and more, are met with serious consequences.

In an effort to earn her freedom, Claire learns her lessons well and before long, she unknowingly captivates her captor. Anthony/ Tony reluctantly becomes enthralled with Claire’s beauty, resilience and determination. Their interaction instigates strong emotions, including—fear, anger, love, and lust—as their journey flows into uncharted waters of intrigue and passion.

From the opening criminal abduction, through the twists and turns, to the unlikely romantic thrills, the suspense climaxes as Aleatha Romig utilizes vivid detail, allowing this novel to unfold like a movie.

Can you put the pieces of the puzzle together? Claire Nichols abduction wasn’t a random act—did she learn her lessons well enough? Will these unlikely lovers remain true--or will she learn the truth before it’s too late?

WTF did I just read.....totally a mind fuck novel. I honestly can not even write a sane review for Consequences so I apologize now for it. In my opinion this can not be compared to any novel out there. It is definitely a one-of-a-kind read.

I did not see this as a love story, more of a thriller. Anthony is a sadistic, manipulative, cruel, control freak. He has to have control of everything and everyone. He is very abusive. I could not relate to him at all. Consequences push my boundaries when the "accident" happened. Because of this it had me  questioning my sanity. How can I read other dark novels and find some stuff like "mine fuck" and dubious consent acceptable. Okay maybe at the time not acceptable but somehow the hero redeems himself.  I think I came to learn it all had to do with the writing style. Monsters are not born they are made. I did not realize while reading Consequences that the part with Nathaniel, Samuel and Anton was about Anthony's past. These scenes I was so confused as they were thrown in scenes, not  italic. I was so flipping confused I kind of had an idea they were most likely family but had no idea it was representing his past until towards the end and is was told in plain view what it was. Then for his actions it all made sense of how he has become the man he is today. But even after that I still could not relate to the bad things he has already done by then I could not stand him.

As for Claire, I did not connect with her character till literally the end, like 95% into the novel. All it took was one thought.  Can not tell you what it was, as it will ruin the ending. I did not understand where her thoughts were going through this novel. She had a decent life before being taken, could not understand her Stockholm syndrome. Really who would understand her if not have been taken before. Usually in reads like this with captivity, readers kind of  understand how the heroine can have Stockholm syndrome because their life before being taken was actually worse. Yes she lost her parents who loved her and her sister dearly and then after her grandparents raised her and her sister she lost them. There was just not enough background to say she had a rough life.

As for my rating  3 stars liked it - is because of the downs and ups of this novel. For the downs, I did feel like I was reading 2 stories. Anthony falling in love with  Claire came abruptly. There was no easing him into falling in love with her. So even after he tried to be a good man for her it drove me nuts. He has dual personalities, the good Tony who is sweet, loving then the bad Tony who is a cruel, abuser. Many scenes are very long and boring.  Consequences does  not flow right, layers in the character development are not smooth and no depth of the characters.

The upsides to  Consequences is it was able to seriously fuck with my mind. Many times when I thought the story was not going anywhere I was about to add another DNF to my list but no I had to keep reading because I had to know how does he know her and why did he kidnap her. Then when things started to pick up with all Anthony's mind fuck games I could not put it down. Even though I could not always connect with the characters and did not always feel their emotions trust me when I say Tony put the fear in me. I was right there with Claire hoping she will not be late or say something to where she breaks a rule that will cause consequences.  Then bang the good Tony would come out and the boring scenes started back up. Every time this happened with good Tony I had to put the book down and ease my mind, do something productive in my house. So I would start cleaning but would not get very far because I had to know if this would be a scene where it starts off with good Tony but ends with bad Tony and his "Mind Fuck" Games. Never knew what was going to happen next. Consequences took over my life, I could not sleep the first night. All I thought about was Claire and Tony and how the pieces of this Puzzle fit together because for the life of me I could not put the pieces together. It made me grouchy, seriously I was snippy with my family. I did not want anyone to bother me because I had to read and put this freakin puzzle together. For me the pieces of this Puzzle did not come together till towards the end. The last 15% of the novel was  fantastic could not swipe my kindle fast enough. That being said it was not enough for me to give a higher rating. The cliffhanger and the end was good but it was the cliffhanger in the epilogue that blew my mind.  The plot was a brilliant idea and Consequences has potential to be a 4 stars - Loved It or 5 stars with some tweaking.

I highly recommend Consequences as I believe every one should experience getting "Mind Fucked" at least once. I am happy I stuck with the novel and got to experience it. Consequences is a hot mess....I need more. I need to know how the story is going to play out. Claire and Tony are still on my mind.

Thoughts:
Mystery Rises (Mystery Falls #2) by Marilyn Phillips cover is beautiful and breathtaking. I am really not one that likes covers with objects, prefer people on the covers but for Paranormal YA covers I do love a beautiful cover with an object. I love the white, crisp snow background and the fallen blue wing with the blue font. If I have not already read Mystery Falls series and seen this cover I would for sure had to check it out for the cover alone.

Review: UnAttainable by Madeline Sheehan

Unattainable (Undeniable #3)
by Madeline Sheehan
Purchase Links: Amazon  Barnes & Noble

Warning: This is not a virtuous and tender love story. It’s chaotic, ruthless, and tragic. This story takes love and kills its innocence, steals away the pure moments, and crushes the hearts of the broken. A story born in childhood, tying one girl to one boy, leads to a destructive path—that hurts more than it doesn’t, that shatters more than it heals—testing the love that binds the two through a lifetime.

Tegen Matthews is the daughter of Dorothy Kelley, a club whore in the Hell’s Horsemen. A plain little girl, Tegen falls into the gritty world of the motorcycle club. When she meets a sweet, caring boy, she embraces the warmth and affection he shows her. Cage West is the son of the president of the Hell’s Horsemen. Tall and blond with deep brown eyes, as he grows up Cage realizes the power of his dimpled smile and smooth drawl. With one chance encounter, Tegen becomes forever tied to Cage. Following is a wayward journey that is filled with regrets, mistakes, and heartache, pulling at the threads that hold them together. Cage and Tegen fight hard but love harder, and in the end, what matters is where the journey takes one girl and one boy, who have been twined with one another since the beginning.

This is Tegen and Cage’s story.

Love doesn’t erase a broken heart, and it sure doesn’t change people. But no matter how old, how flimsy, how frayed the rope of love is, it keeps you tethered to the people you love.

I could not wait to dive into Cage and Tegan story but to be honest their story really did not do it for me till ZZ was a part of it. After awhile Tegan started to get on my nerves. She has a lot of anger towards Cage and I get it but she did need to take it down a notch at times. There was a lot of Angst between them but felt like all they did is fight, have steamy-cold-shower-sex. But towards the end I get that is what their relationship is like.

Who would of guessed the side story of Michael "Dirty" and Ellie stole the show.
Never really gave Dirty a second thought in earlier novels. After all, he does not think twice about hygiene and that is how he got his name "Dirty".  In earlier novels he is dark and twisted. Finding out about his past and what makes him the way he is now with layers slowly peeling away in Unattainable was well done. Totally fell in love with his character and his scenes at time were brutal and some even broke my heart. At the beginning I was not sure where their story was going. I could not swipe my Kindle fast enough to see if they will get their HEA. I do hope they get their own story and will not always be a side story like how Kami and Cox were in Undeniable #1. I feel like there is so much more to their story.

Perfect set up for Hawk, Dorothy and Jase book next up in UnBeloved (Undeniable #4). Look forward to see how their story plays out.

ZZ and Dirty saved UnAttainable for me from a 3 star - Liked It novel to a 4 stars - Loved it. Now as for ZZ....Wow did not see that one coming with his action. No.. ZZ what have you done! I am curious how Madeline Sheehan is going to pull off his story. I am so excited his story is not too far away in Undying (Undeniable #5).  I am sure it is going to be a hit after all Madeline Sheehan is an amazing author that was able to turn a Never-thought-of-twice character Michael "Dirty" into a crushing character. Brilliant Madeline...just freakin brilliant.
