#1 New York Times bestselling author Ilona Andrews launches a brand new Hidden Legacy series, in which one woman must place her trust in a seductive, dangerous man who sets off an even more dangerous desire…

Nevada Baylor is faced with the most challenging case of her detective career—a suicide mission to bring in a suspect in a volatile case. Nevada isn’t sure she has the chops. Her quarry is a Prime, the highest rank of magic user, who can set anyone and anything on fire.

Then she’s kidnapped by Connor “Mad” Rogan—a darkly tempting billionaire with equally devastating powers. Torn between wanting to run or surrender to their overwhelming attraction, Nevada must join forces with Rogan to stay alive.

Rogan’s after the same target, so he needs Nevada. But she’s getting under his skin, making him care about someone other than himself for a change. And, as Rogan has learned, love can be as perilous as death, especially in the magic world.
Rating: 5 Stars - Amazing

Thoughts: Can Rogan be anymore of an ass but at the same time sexy. He is unapologetic, stubborn, smartass  and love him for that. He does not make threats or promises he states facts. No one tells him no and thinks he can do whatever he wants. He does not feel rules apply to him. If he wants something he buys it. If he can not buy something he takes it. He has no sensitivity towards others. If he does something good for someone there is a reason that will benefit him. He is a powerful man in this world that the fabulous wife-husband writing team Ilona Andrews have created. For most of his traits I understand he is the way he is. You can not show weakness when you are high-powered. Now for some of his other traits I am curious about.  Lets not forget you annoy him and he will kill you simple as that. The best part I adore is how he loves to mess with Nevada.

"Maybe you should make me a list of people I can kill and ways in which they’re allowed to die," he said.

"You are not funny."

"I'm very funny. Just ask Peaches."

Nevada has some of the craziest thoughts about dragons relating to Rogan. The devotion and love she has for her family are amazing. She is opposite of Rogan as she has empathy for others. She does not think before she speaks that lead to some fun moments with Rogan. It was so easy to fall for her character. She has no problem telling Rogan no or putting him in his place.

"You seem to be under the impression that I work for you and you can give me orders. Let me fix that." I hung up.

I had so much fun reading Burn For Me. Action, humor, maybe a small burn romance in the making. Since Rogan and Nevada are working a case together he does have a good amount of page time. Their banter was entertaining and they had perfect chemistry.

"One school of thought says that the best way to handle an issue like this is exposure therapy," Mad Rogan said. "For example, if you're terrified of snakes, repeated handling of them will cure it."

Aha. "I'm not handling your snake."

He grinned. "Baby, you couldn't handle my snake."

Secondary characters were so much fun. Her family added so much to the story. Her grandma was my favorite. Look forward to reading book 2.

  1. I absolutely adored this series! Rogan and Nevada's banter cracks me up. Nevada doesn't put up with much. But Rogan likes to sneak in his one liners! I'm glad you enjoyed this book as much as I did! Can't wait to see what you think of the rest of the series!

  2. I listened to this one on audio last year and unfortunately that was the *wrong* format for me. I disliked the narrator so much that it ruined the book for me. I wish I'd read it instead because I might have really liked it, but the narration was so bad that it pretty much turned me off the series. Too bad because I did like Rogan! :)

  4. I love this series! I love the Ilona Andrews! I'm currently working my way through the Kate Daniels books (on number eight, I think), and I love them as well! They're so snarky and fun, and the characters are amazing and well-developed. Also, the stories!

I see you're reading Silver Silence... it makes me want an alpha bear, haha! <3

  6. This sounds like a fun romance. I will have to add this to my TBR. I haven't read this author either so that should be fun. Great review!
