Question:
Ten Books I Loved More Than I Thought I Would
Well my Top Ten turned into Top Twelve.
  All thoughts are spoil free

Suspense

The Swan and the Jackal (In The Company Of Killers #3)
By J.A. Redmerski
Add To Goodreads

I enjoyed the first 2  books In The Company Of Killers Series but they were just that enjoyable. Nothing really stood out for me. So going into Fredrik story The Swan and the Jackal I did not have high expectations.

Fredrik story was all kinds of amazing. J.A. Redmerski has made Fredrik's story its own. It is unique with a little bit of everything, mystery, thriller and even some love. I cringed, had quite a few WTF just happened moments and shed a few tears. J.A. Redmerski powerful writing voice with Fredrik's story has proven even a sadistic heroe can love.  The best part is the ending. There is a lot of love it or hate it for this. For me I loved it. I am happy she did not go another direction as I do not think it would fit the plot.

Paranormal Romance

Burning Wild (Leopard People #3)
By Christine Feehan
Add To Goodreads

I am a huge fan of Christine Feehan Alpha Male Shifters. Loved her first 2 books but wow was not expecting to fall in love more with Jake and Emma story. The plot was original. Jake has got to be the most intense character Christine Feehan has ever written. Emma was a perfect match for Jake.  The slow burn romance was perfect for me. The best part for me is the different emotions I was feeling through out the novel. I was sad, mad and happy. Their story did break my heart a few times.

Archangel's Blade (Guild Hunter #4)
By Nalini Singh
Add To Goodreads

Loved Raphael and Elena's books. Did not think I would love Dmitri's story more. I was so engrossed in the story and being able to see the softer human side of Dmitri I did not see the twist coming. Loved the direction Nalini Singh took the plot. I feel it needed to be done to keep his true character. Nalini Singh keeps her characters the same. Every book she writes is different.  That is what makes Nalini Singh a phenomenal author.

Mercury's War (Breeds #16)
By Lora Leigh
Add To Goodreads

Love the Breeds series by Lora Leigh. The Breeds are sexy alpha males that are over protective of their mates. They are delicious in and out of the bedroom. The one that stands out for me is Mercury's story. His story broke my heart. Their is one point in the book that I was actually afraid to turn the page. I was not sure what direction Lora Leigh was going. But I should of known better she always delivers a good scenario.

Destined For An Early Grave (Night Huntress #4)
By Jeaniene Frost
Add To Goodreads

Love Cat and Bones. The Night Huntress series is  guilty pleasure reads for me. I was not prepared to have my heart torn apart in Destined For An Early Grave by Bones. I found this addition to be intense and an emotional roller coaster.

Highlander Romance

The Recruit (Highland Guard #6)
By Monica McCarty
Add To Goodreads

This was the first book I read from Monica McCarty and was amazed with her story telling. The Recruit had good action with lots of twist and turns I never saw coming.  So many romantic scenes I thought were going to go one way but to my surprise it took a different turn. Kenneth the hero is my favorite type of Alpha Male. He is over protective but at the same time can be gentle.

Never Seduce A Scot (The Montgomerys and Armstrongs #1)
By Maya Banks
Add To Goodreads

Love Maya Banks Sweet Series (Erotic) and KGI series (Romantic Suspense). I feel her writing really shined in Never Seduce A Scot. I wish she would write more Highlander Romances because she is amazing in this genre. I did tear up a little in Never Seduce A Scot but overall it was a feel good book about two people who were forced in a marriage, never new love but found it. All the characters leaped of the pages with realism. Graeme was an alpha male but was also loving, sweet, caring and honorable. Loved that he would put Evaline needs before his. I loved that Eveline takes what was given to her and tries to make it work not only with Graeme but with the clan.

Biker Romance
How can I not put in a Hottie Biker in my Top Ten. I am still crushing on those Badass Bikers.

Undeniable (Undeniable #1)
By Madeline Sheehan
Add To Goodreads

Going into Undeniable I was in the mood for an intense read that push my limits. Kudo’s to Madeline Sheehan for giving me what I wanted in Undeniable, well written, intense, emotional roller coaster novel that broke my heart on so many levels. Loved that it was raw and gritty but felt natural. All the jaw dropping moments were nicely layered through out the novel. Hate when authors throw in a shocker moment that is so out of placed.

Reaper's Property (Reapers MC #1)
By Joanna Wylde
Add To Goodreads

Reaper’s Property is an edge of your seat and unpredictable read. Things are not what they always seem to be in Reaper’s Property. Especially when it comes to Horse’s actions. What made it such a great novel is I never knew what was going to happen next. The plot starts off in the present then it will begin with how it all got to that point. Loved how it was told this way. It was nice to see Marie and Horse become friends first.

Affliction (Knights Rebel MC #2)
By River Savage
Add To Goodreads

I liked Incandescent book #1 but did not love it. So going into Affliction book #2 I did not have any expectations. I wanted to give River Savage another go. So happy I did because I enjoyed book 2 more. Two things stood out in Sy story. First off I did not read any spoiler reviews so I was able to go in blind. That is the best way to go into Sy story. I was not prepared to have my heart broken into a million pieces due to flashbacks. Love my flashbacks and they were nicely layered through out the book. I needed that to get a good feel of what made his character feel so much pain. Second the plot was unpredictable. So many times I thought River Savage was going to go in one direction but bam she went another direction that I liked more.

NA Contemporary
I did not have high expectations going into Hopeless By Colleen Hoover and Ten Tiny Breaths By K.A. Tucker.  Both books were popular in the blogging world. It always seems like when a book is popular and everyone loves them I do not. I was excited that was not the case with both books and I ended up loving them more than I thought I would. Both books were page turners for me with lots of twists. Both  authors are master story tellers with a beautiful writing voice.

  1. You have a great list here. I adore Joanna Wylde, she got me hooked on MC romances. Never Seduce A Scot was AMAZING!! I love her historicals, and I can't wait for Banks to get back to the series. And Monica McCarty is fantastic, I have been reading her since the first book Chief, and I love what she has done with the series. Glad you have enjoyed her work as well.
