Synopsis By Goodreads
Phoenix ‘Nix’ Knight thought pulling his club out of the illegal shit his Pops got them into was difficult.

Until he meets Kadence.

Kadence Turner has no business lusting over a student’s father, especially the president of the Knights Rebels MC. Nix is crass, obnoxious and dangerously sexy and for some reason, Kadence can’t seem to hate him for it. The bossy biker breaks down her defenses, but unlike the old Kadence, the woman she is today won’t give in without a fight.

The tension is undeniable, the attraction fierce. A man that wants what he wants and a woman that will fight him every step of the way.

This was not a bad read I just had a few problems with it.
I enjoyed Nix the hero. He is a yummy Alpha Male-Biker who will protect his loved ones. Loved seeing the softer side when it came to his son. You can tell he loves his son and means the world to him. But really only got to see this more towards the end. I needed more time through out the novel.
Kadence the heroine I had hard time connecting with her character until the end. Because of something bad from her past she does give a good fight with Nix. One minute she is all in and the next she is not.
The first half is really based off their up and down secret romance. Because Kadence is Nix son teacher and they did not want the school to find out.  Nix falls hard for Kadence fast. He is not use to doing the chasing. After 3 weeks he was ready to claim her as his woman and I felt that was too fast. Even the heroine thought it was fast. They did have good chemistry together and he was a delicious Dirty-Talker.
There was a nice little jaw dropping moment I did not see coming in the plot. I think the most problem I had with this book was the format. The 1st half was ok but I really enjoyed the 2nd half. Everything that I wanted through out the book was in the second half. This was a toned down biker book and that worked for me. I wish some of the secondary characters were not behind the scenes. Love when an author brings to life secondary characters and tease us with them. Was curious what was going on but have to find out in book 2.
Overall I needed a good balance with his son and his time with Kadence through out the novel.

Dirty talker quote
"Tell me, Kadence, if I stuck my hand down these tight-as-sin jeans," his finger trails along the tops of my pants, "and touched your pussy," would you be wet for me?"

  1. I still haven't read a MC novel, grabbing this one, thank you!!

    1. Happy it is free for you to try your first MC read. Not heavy on the club side.

  2. Sorry this wasn't as good as you'd hoped. But on the bright side, a dirty talking hero can really perk up a book! :)

    Great review.

  3. I read this one a while ago and liked it, didn't love it but it was a quick easy read.

    1. Happy to know I am not the only that liked it but didn't love it.

  4. I picked this one up when it was free and read it. I'm like you, I liked it but I didn't fall in love with it. I'm curious to read the one you DID love.

  5. Oh noms on the dirty talking hero. Yes, please! The heroine's wishy washy behavior would probably make me twitch. lol
