Review: Asking For Trouble by Tessa Bailey

Asking for Trouble (Line of Duty #4)
by Tessa Bailey

Synopsis
A sexy category romance from Entangled's Brazen imprint...

The fighting was just foreplay...

Brent Mason and Hayden Winstead can't stand each other. She plans exclusive parties for her rich family's charities. He's a rough and tumble cop who rigs explosives for a living. Could two people be any less suited for conversation? They think not and prefer to keep it that way.

Unfortunately, their two best friends are deeply, disgustingly in love. Forced together, the mutual attraction simmering beneath the surface of Brent and Hayden's non-relationship grows with every argument until it explodes into a scintillating night of mind-blowing sex. And it wont be the last, as far as Brent's concerned.

Hayden has a secret, though. Her father's company is relying on a merger to save them from financial ruin, and only Hayden's marriage to the CEOs wealthy son can secure the deal. If she's to protect her family, she'll have to forget Brent. And he has no intention of being forgotten.

I was hoping for good banter when Asking For Trouble started like this. Tessa Bailey did not disappoint.

If he winks at me one more time, I'm going to introduce his nuts to my size seven stiletto.

One of my favorite book themes is opposite attract and Tessa Bailey outdid herself with Asking For Trouble. For their reasons  Hayden and Brent put up fake illusions in front of the world. She comes off as a rich, cold blooded and heartless woman. Deep inside is a sexually frustrated bad girl just itching to be let out. Of course it is her enemy Brent that has a way of bringing that bad girl out of her. I was crushing big time on Hayden. Love my heroines that are just as sexy in the bedroom department as the heroes.

Brent shows the world his loud abrasive personality. Really he is a caring brother and son who takes cares of his family. He likes to feel needed by people he cares about. Do not let "likes to feel needed" scare you away because he is still an alpha male through and through. This is just what made him more sexy and fall for him harder through out the novel. He is not one to really let his lovers take control in the bedroom department but he sees that Hayden's inner bad girl is dying to come out so of course this is where "likes feel needed" come into play.  Now do not let this scare you away either because trust me he does not always let her have control. He just lets her have enough control to scratch her bad girl itch. Tessa Bailey is the queen of some amazing sexual tension, dirty talking and creating straight forward heroes I love.

"You're testing my patience here, duchess," he growled. "If you have any doubt about my ability to fuck the ever-loving sarcasm right out of you, I'll be more than happy to clear it up."

Brent and Hayden are now one of my favorite book couples. They are a fun, sexy couple that had me giggling one moment then hot and bothered the next. Love how their banters came out sexually. They might be enemies but have hot chemistry. Both can hold their own around each other but at the same time lose all senses around each other. What I loved most about Tessa Bailey's writing voice is that her sex scenes and the sexual tension moments are always refreshing. Readers by now know when reading a Tessa Bailey novel you are going to get the best dirty talking hero, but you will never know what comes out of his mouth. I have so much good quotes highlighted on my kindle that I am dying to share with all but Asking For Trouble is better read with not knowing.  Line of Duty series gets better and better with each novel.
