Mature YA-romance

Seventeen-year old Sarah’s life is turned upside down when her single mom is sent to jail. She’s forced to move, leaving behind everything she’s ever known, including her best friend Sydney. Lost and bitter in a new school, her one goal is to save money and move back home. Then she meets Angel Moreno.

Enigmatic but gorgeous, Angel is almost too good to be true. Except for one thing, his archaic belief that guys and girls can never be “just friends”. The problem? Sarah’s best friend Sydney is not a girl.

With their unexpected romance intensifying to places neither ever experienced, how long can Sarah keep Angel in the dark about the guy waiting for her back home?

Review:

Forever Mine is a sweet romance about first love. The plot is just that, plus Sarah keeping her best friend genre from Angel and a young creepy coach who flirts with the teenage girls.

Angel Moreno is a sweet, jealous, protective and possessive hero. I loved and felt his sweetness towards Sarah. I never had a boyfriend in high school that rubbed my feet or took me on picnics. Through out the book he does have his jealous moments especially when a group of kids were hanging out by his car with Sarah and his sister Sofia. But then I really felt more of his protectiveness towards his sister. He is sweet and protective at a party. He protected her from another school mate from harassing Sarah and would not leave her side after that. Kudos to Elizabeth Reyes for not having teenagers drive drunk. I loved that Angel and his friends always have a designated driver if drinking.

Sarah I did enjoy her character but was wishy washy to me. I really did not see the big deal in not wanting to tell her boyfriend Angel that her best friend Sydney is a boy. I loved her talks and friendship with Sydney.

The secondary characters stole the show. I love having secondary characters in a book only when they do not take away from the main characters. I just want to know enough about them, some little teasing to excitement where I can not wait for their own story. Do not get me wrong I loved reading about Alex Moreno, Valerie (her best friend) Sofia Moreno and Eric (Angels best friend) but I think they took away from Sarah and Angel’s story. Forever Mine had three romances going on at the same time. I think if just cut back on the secondary characters romance, could of build Sarah and Angels romance more. They both fell in love fast and hard.

Oh My Goodness... I got excited when Sofia and Eric were in a scene. I honestly could not see how the Moreno brothers could not tell they were flirting. Poor Sofia, she has to deal with not only one over protective brother but three. They still see her as little Sofia but she is all grown up and wants to live her own life and is falling for Eric. Now Eric is Angels best friend and is like part of the family. When he gets protective of Sofia the brothers see it as him just being like them a brother protecting a sister. Oh my they are totally wrong and when they find out, especially Alex fist are flying. Wow what a excellent scene when Alex found out about them. I was really hoping their story would be next, but it is not. Next up is Alex Moreno and Valerie’s story. Not complaining never a dull moment with them.

I loved reading about Alex Moreno and Valerie. They do not really have a relationship more just having fun together. Valerie does not want to be in a relationship. She rather be free, not be hold down by one guy and just have fun. As her and Alex start having their fun together she is starting to have feelings for him and it scares her. Alex also does not want a relationship and is fine with them just having fun but he is starting to feel jealous, protective and possessive of Valerie and does not know how to take it. Alex is my favorite of the brothers and I am excited to see how these two can go from just having fun together to lovers in a relationship.

Forever Mine is a sweet story but it was Eric, Sofia, Alex and Valerie that got my attention and I look forward to continuing The Moreno Brothers series to see how their story turns out.
