Review:

Perfect ~ Keeper

I actually read Double Time by Olivia Cunning first and I know totally out of order but fell in love with her writing voice and all her characters. Backstage Pass was just as good and hilarious. I do not think I have ever read an erotic romance that is a scorcher with so many LOL moments.

Olivia Cunning is a master at story telling and I think only she can pull off some of the Laugh Out Loud moments with a hero who is a sexy, helpless romantic and sometimes can be more of the chick in a relationship. That helpless romantic would be the main hero Brian, the Lead Guitarist and Composer for the band Sinners. I fell in love with him in the beginning when he first met Myrna and was drunk off his ass after a breakup. I usually do not fall for heroes who are too romantic. I really need more to them, like more alpha male, protective etc. Olivia just has an amazing way of writing that I wanted Brian all to my self. I loved how he treated Myrna right from start. He might not be the In-Your-Face-Alpha-Male but he is still sweet, protective and has a bit of jealousy. He does have his reason for sometimes needing reassurance in his relationship and it all goes back to his parents. The stuff he does for Myrna is beautiful, sexy and fun. OMG I was so happy I was alone at home reading the airport scene. Olivia made me almost pee my pants laughing so hard when they were trying to have a quickie in the airport bathroom and the guy in the next stall took a dump. This line might not make sense to you but it was ROTF, Laugh Out Loud, I actually read it a few times. Really to get a good feel of this scene you have to read the whole scene.

“They exited the stall and Brian knocked on the next stall. “Someone’s in here,” a startled man’s voice said.

“Yeah, dude. I heard. You picked a horrible time to take a shit. You know. Have a nice day.

Myrna the heroine I adored her the first time she meets the band members in the hotel bar. She has guts to go up to a band and sit with them so she can try to get some info for her work. Loved how she does not fall for any of their playboy ways or take any crap from them and gives it right back to them especially with them trying to get in her pants. She has had something bad happened to her in the past that she is hiding and trying to live a new life. I like how she has move forward and is trying to get on with her life but still does have some issues. She does not do relationships or fall in love. I loved her more when she stood up to his parents and gave them a mouthful on how they treat their son.

Brian and Myrna chemistry is sizzling right from the start. I loved them together. They do have their ups and downs which the downs can get pretty intense. Now the ups are steamy, sweet and fun. I not only loved how they connect in the bedroom, bathroom, dining room table, behind the bus, bedroom bus with a little backdoor activity, voyage, light BDSM and ménage (the sex scenes are erotic but well done and never the same) but they have fun together. I will never look at Ketchup the same. Different and very creative. I thought Brian was a sweetheart when he took her to dinner, then they walked on the beach and of course my favorite part is when she called his private beautiful and the outcome from it.

“It’s a fucking beast, Brian. You’re going to tear me in half with that thing!”

He looked stunned at first, but then laughed. “The only way to save yourself from my beast is to put it in your mouth.”

I love the band members relationship. They are so much fun to read about and just add so much to the story. Never a dull moment when they are together. The love and protectiveness they have for each other is real. They fight and also have fun. The hat scene with Eric is nasty but hilarious.

Sed cracked me up with his name usage for girls to use at the door to get backstage “Myrna Suxsed”. I loved how the first time he meets Myrna she will not give him the time of day. He is just baffled but later he has respect for her and their friendship grows.

The rest of the band members are awesome and I fell in love with them all in Double Time but it was nice to see how they were when single. They are all a bunch of sexy men who are definitely living the rock star life with their groupies. I do look forward to see how their loved ones bring them to their knees and tame them, especially Sed who’s story is next.

Backstage Pass is erotic romance at its best. Highly recommend if you are looking for a good read, with LOL moments, Scorching sex scenes and an actual plot that is not just about sex. You will fall in love with Brian, Myrna and the rest of the band members from Sinners.
