Review: Protecting What's His by Tessa Bailey

Protecting What's His (Line Of Duty #1)
Tessa Bailey

Synopsis
A sexy category romance from Entangled's Brazen imprint...

She’s running from the law, and the law wants her bad.

The opportunity was just too damn delicious for Ginger Peet to pass up. The purse full of money she finds—$50,000 to be exact—could give her and her teen sister the new start they need. So she grabs the cash, her gothy sibling, and their life-sized statue of Dolly Parton, and blows outta Nashville in a cloud of dust. Chicago, here we come...

Turns out, Chicago has some pretty hot cops. Hot, intense, naughty-lookin’ cops like Derek Tyler, who looks like he could eat a girl up and leave her begging for more. And more. Tempting as he is, getting involved with the sexy homicide lieutenant next door poses a teensy problem for a gal who’s on the lam. But one thing is certain—Derek’s onto her, and he wants more than just a taste.

And as far as he’s concerned, possession is nine-tenths of the law.

I have been reading this series out of order and is fine as I believe they can be stand alone novels. Tessa Bailey's alpha male-dirty talking hero Derek is delicious.  Love that not only is he over protective of Ginger but he is protective of her sister too. Ginger and Derek push each other buttons right from the start. They have to work twice has hard at their relationship. She has been innocent of men and he lacked experience being in an actual relationship. If I did not fall so hard for Derek this would of most likely been a 3-stars liked it novel. Ginger was a little out there for my liking. I love her devotion to get her sister away from danger.

  1. LOL I read this series way out of order too. I enjoyed these two but they weren't my favorite of the couples. I was totally head over heels for book 2 personally :D Derek was pretty yummy though :)
