I want a Master from the Shadowlands Club

It is rare to find a author who can top the first book in a series. Cherise Sinclair did that and more with Dark Citadel book 2 in the Master of the Shadowlands series. Her writing voice is beautiful and story telling is entertaining. What did it for me was by chapter 3 you already get beautiful descriptions, just enough back story on the characters, sizzling sexual tension, and you will fall in love with the Hero who is gentle and very loving.

“You’re allowed to look, sweetheart,” he murmured, running a finger down her hot cheek. “I enjoy having your eyes on me.”

You have a modest, polite and always obey by the rules Kari the Heroine that was raised by a strict father. She was never that interested in sex until her boyfriend told her about domination and bondage. She agrees to go with him to Shadowlands Club to take lessons. He turns into a jerk and she decides to leave but Master Z catches her before leaving and gets her to stay and keep taking lessons with Master Dan an experienced Dom who never takes a sub for more than one night after the death of his wife a few years back.

Master Dan is the brooding Hero that can not let go of his diseased wife. Dan and his wife never had kids so her death left him feeling lonely. He just wants someone to love him, but he still aches and has guilt from the lost of his wife. Because of his guilt he never takes a sub for more than one night until Kari comes into his life. Now he has so many mixed emotions that he does not know how to deal with them. It was heart-wrenching to read at times because Kari thought he was having the same loving feelings for her but then he would become cold and pull away. It was nice to see his little possessiveness/jealous streak of Kari through out the book. Dan is a sweet talker and very touchy-feely. I fell in love with Dan by chapter 3 but Master Dan you had me at chapter 5 with one little word “Nibble.”

“Red,” she whispered. She bit her lip again, and he couldn’t stand it.
“If anyone nibbles those lips, it will be me,” he murmured, licking over the plump bottom one. He tilted his head and took her mouth, then delved deep inside. She tasted of rum and coke and something that was essentially Kari.

It was a joy to watch Kari transform from a mousy school teacher to a beautiful, sensual woman. She falls in love with Dan pretty quick, but who wouldn’t when you have a sexy Dom who gets you and is whispering sweet, erotic words in your ear while caressing you in a gentle and loving way. She also had a backbone as she at times spoke her mind when Dan would get cold on her and back off. She also would bite her tongue and took what ever punishments Dan gave her in a erotic good way.

It was a treat to see Master Z and Jessica through out the book. It was always just enough to let you know how they are doing and seeing that they are still madly in love.

And can not forget The Capture Gardens scene. Oh my it is erotic, fun and intense. Hope we get more of this in the other character stories.

Dark Citadel is a keeper. This book is the one you would want to read on a rainy night in front of a cozy fire with a nice glass of wine. You do not have to like BDSM to enjoy this book. For me that was just an added bonus. It is truly a love story with a Hero and Heroine that are meant to be together and reading how they are going to get their HEA.

3 Fave books challenge

I was just asked what are my fave 3 books that are over 18yrs old only. Wow that was a challenge to only list 3.  I have more than 3 in my Christine Feehan, Lora Leigh and Nalini Singh collection and I only listed a Lora Leigh book.

My 3 Fave books:
Mercury's War-Lora Leigh
(It was a toss up between Mercury's War, Dangerous Games  and Wild Card. Had to go with Mercury's War. Could not turn the pages fast enough and it made me cry. Pretty sad too I had to buy a new copy from re-reading it so much)

Wicked Wednesday Cover: Take Me

It has been a while since I read Take Me by Bella Andre. What I remember was fun and erotic with some sizzling sexual tension (especially the bathtub scene in Italy).

The cover is just yummy with Lily the Heroine in her black dress and sexy red heals showing off  her beautiful curves. Oh my  Travis the Hero  is out this world sexy baring his awesome chest and sinfully sexy bicep in  his dress pants.  Besides all the yummy going on in this cover I am luvin how Travis is holding Lily. To me it screams you are all mine. He looks like he is trying to control his hunger for her and not take her right there over looking the beautiful scenery on the patio.  Lily is giving off some serious Take Me vibes. 

Wow after writing this I am off to buy Take Me for my Nook as I gave away my soft cover. Darn wish I would of kept it.

My Answer:

Is Angela Knight the Mageverse Series. I read Seductions Gift in The Hot Blooded Anthology and loved it. When Borders when out of Business I went out and bought all paperback books in the series. I even bought  The Time Hunter Series and Captive Dreams. I just could not get into Master of the Night and have not finished it yet. I wanted to read the Mageverse Series first so have not even started on the other series. I will defenitly get to the series and I am sure I will enjoy it. I have gotten alot of recommendations to read her books.

Wicked Wednesday Cover: Halfway to the Grave

Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress Series #1) by Jeaniene Frost cover is edgy & sexy. Cat is a beautiful, sensuous & kick butt Heroine that has these gorgeous legs that a man or woman would love to taste & feel. The cover fits perfect to Cats character as she gradually becomes a captivating & confident woman, because of this I still see the uncertainty in her pose. Not a lot but just enough of her unsureness to become a sexy huntress to lure the bad guys in. Her dress is seductive and her boots are wickedly hot, add in her risque red hair and you have Cat (or how Bones like to call her Kitten) the Night Huntress.
Well done to the artist and model for this cover. Wish I knew who the model is.

This was my 1st book I read by this author. Loved it! It had everything sadness, romance and suspense. I do not think I have ever read a book that dealt with so many issues. There is love, trust, death, murder, drug addiction etc. I think a lot of people can relate to this book as something that has happened at some point in their life. I would read a part and say to myself. Wow I am so happy I have never gone through that then I would read another part and want to break down crying because I have been through that and I know what the character is going through (the emotions the characters go through were right on the mark. I felt like I was reliving my life). The characters jumped out of the pages. I felt like I was part of the family. The Hero Joe was super alpha male and stayed the same throughout the book. He took care of what was his the only way he knew how, might not always be good or sugar coated but he made sure what belong to him was taken care of. The Heroine Violet was an amazing & strong woman. Kristen Ashley wrote her characters with a lot of thought and emotion. You could feel their happiness, love, anger and sadness. This is a keeper for me and will read more from KA.

There is nothing worse than reading  a book and the cover does not match the characters.

I am still in process of reading this book. But just had to post a quick picture of the cover, as it is yummy. Logan is describe to a T towards the cover. From his beautiful green eyes to even his laugh lines and intense look. I want to nibble on  his lower lip.

So far it is not as confusing as the first book. Logan is still like her heroes, a brooding Alpha Male. There is just right amount of sizzling tension.

Deadly Sins so far is better than Midnight Sins (book 1 in the series), but still  not as good as The Seals Series and The Elite Ops Series. I am a huge Lora Leigh fan and will still buy her books in Paperback for my collection.
