Synopsis by goodreads
From the New York Times bestselling author comes a thrilling new romance series. A TEAR ASUNDER Spin-off.
Georgie
I lie to survive.
Have since I was sixteen and my world fell into chaos. But I found a way to endure, or rather it found me. Now I’m a prisoner of my own doing, hiding behind a false mask so no one sees the truth. Not even the man I want but can’t have—Deck. But I messed up and the lies are spilling over, out of control.
Deck is unrelenting and will settle for nothing less than the truth. He demands everything from me—EVERYTHING—even if it rips me apart.
Deck
I kill for a living.
Unyielding—It’s how I survive in my line of work. I bend people to my will…except Georgie.
But that ends now.
I've played her game for far too long. Now it's time we play mine.

Wow! This was a nice surprise for me. I had some issues with Torn From You (Tear Asunder #1) but a few of the secondary characters did catch my attention. One of them being Deck and Georgie. Another surprise to see their story be a spin off of the Tear Asunder series. Because of my issues with the other book I really had no expectations going into Perfect Chaos. I knew I wanted to give this author another chance as I did like some other characters. So happy I did.
Loved the layers that slowly peeled away with Georgie and her secrets. Readers were right there with Deck trying to find out the truth of what is going on with Georgie. Her world is dark and some scenes were pain full to read but it needed to be done so readers can feel what she is going through. This lie of a life she is living makes her strong will. She can be bit feisty and has a smart mouth on her but it is not over the top. Love that she can hold her own but still has her weak moments.
Deck is an alpha male true to heart. It is in his nature to protect his loved ones. When it comes to Georgie he is over protected. He has his reasons as he knows she is keeping secrets. He has been around for years in and out of her life looking out for her. Loved that they did not fall in bed to quick. I do not know if I just connected more with them because they caught my attention in Torn From You (Tear Asunder #1) or if their chemistry was right on. All I know is I absolutely fell in love with them as individuals and as a couple. It also has my favorite trope Older Brothers Best Friend.
Perfect Chaos grabbed me from beginning and never let up. Full of twist and turns I never knew coming.
oh I love that the author took time and built the layers of mystery, I think it makes it so much more interesting
ReplyDeleteThat was the best part
DeleteI need to get back to her books. It's bee a while since I read one. So many books and just not enough me! lol I'm glad you enjoyed this one!
ReplyDeleteI know. I am so behind on lots of series.
DeleteThat's awesome that this spin-off was more to your liking than the original series. Usually spin-offs tend to have the same tone and feel as the original. I read the prequel and first book of the Tear Asunder series and they were okay. I enjoyed them but I haven't finished the series for whatever reason. Hopefully this series continues to hold your attention.
ReplyDeleteI usually feel the same way with spin offs.
