Noontime Martini: Have you ever dislike a heroes nickname?

I would love to have a Girls Lunch Date with a Dirty Martini and Talk  Bookish and Non-Bookish with you all. Well since I can not have that, Noontime Martini was created.

Hi everyone. I was going through some old reviews to see how I use to write them. I came across a review from one of my favorite authors and forgot I even read this book. Sadly it was not a hit for me and I am sure this is my reasoning for not remembering. I love when a hero has a nickname. I feel like I am getting an extra treat when this happens. I was not a fan of this heroes nickname but that is not the reason for my miss with this book. I got to thinking if anybody else has ever came across a heroes nickname that was not appealing.

An old flame rekindled . . .

Zara Cinders always knew Ham Reece was the one, but he wasn't interested in settling down. When she found someone who was, Ham walked out of her life. Three years later, Zara's lost her business, her marriage, and she's barely getting by in a tiny apartment on the wrong side of the tracks. As soon as Ham hears about Zara's plight, he's on her doorstep offering her a lifeline. Now, it will take every ounce of will power she possesses to resist all that he offers.

Ham was always a traveling man, never one to settle down in one town, with one woman, for more time than absolutely necessary. But Ham's faced his own demons, and he's learned a lot. About himself, and about the life he knows he's meant to live. So when he hears that Zara's having a rough time, he wants to be the one to help. In fact, he wants to do more than that for Zara. A lot more. But first, he must prove to Zara that he's a changed man.
I assumed going into Jagged the heroes nickname is Ham from the blurb. I could never pass up a Kristen Ashley novel. She is the queen of delicious alpha male heroes. Graham Reece is a sexy name for a hero. Personally I would of loved Reece as his nickname. Not a piece of meat. His nickname for the heroine is Cookie. I am thinking these nicknames were meant to sound cute and funny. Everybody has different taste and I am sure many have loved these nicknames.

A man who shoots first and asks questions later…

Most people would take an all-expenses-paid trip to the beach in a heartbeat. Garrett Kelly only accepts to keep tabs on Sarah Daniels, who’s in hiding after witnessing a murder by Marcus Lattimer, her half-brother—and a personal enemy of KGI. This gig may be beneath a disciplined soldier like Garrett, but if he gets a shot at Lattimer, it will all be worth it…

…and the ultimate moving target.

But Garrett hadn’t counted on falling for Sarah. He’d considered seduction as a tactical maneuver, but when he glimpses Sarah’s dark past, he feels an urgent desire to keep her safe—even after she disappears on him. Garrett doesn’t know exactly who, or what, Sarah’s running from, but whatever it is, she’s running for her life…

Thoughts: Hidden Away was another winner for me in Maya Banks KGI series. Who would ever thought that grouchy Garrett could be so sweet and loveable. The bag of books and wine scene had me swooning. Best part of the book for me was the slow burn romance. The island setting was perfect and different from the other books. Like with others in this series get some action and humor. Maya Banks knows how to write family in this series. They never take away from the story line as they are part or it. The Kelly family and friends are fun and realistic.

Sunday Post: Full House

Sunday Post is a weekly recap hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer.

Hi everyone hope you all have been having a good few weeks. Mine have been busy but good.  My son, daughter-in-law and grandson moved in with us for a short period of time. Love having my family especially our grandson in the same house. Sorry for my short disappearance but I needed some time to adjust to having a full house.

If do not see from time to time know that I am in good hands with Roman (grandson) my sidekick.

College drop-out Roxy Cumberland moved to New York with dreams of becoming an actress, but her dwindling bank account is quickly putting the kibosh on that fantasy. To make some quick cash, she signs up to perform singing telegrams. Her first customer is a gorgeous, cocky Manhattan trust-funder if she ever laid eyes on one. And what could be more humiliating than singing an ode to his junk, courtesy of his last one night stand? Maybe the fact that she's dressed in a giant pink bunny costume…

After a night out to celebrate winning his last case, lawyer Louis McNally the Second isn't prepared for the pounding in his head or the rabbit serenading him from the front door. But the sassy wit and sexy voice of the girl behind the mask intrigue him, and one look at her stunning face—followed by a mind-blowing kiss against his doorjamb—leaves Louis wanting more.

Roxy doesn't need a spoiled rich boy who's had everything in life handed to him on a Tiffany platter. But there's more to Louis than his sexy surface and he's determined to make Roxy see it...even if it means chasing her all over NYC.
Thoughts: Chase Me has to be my favorite, cutest first time meet with the hero/heroine. Tessa Bailey books are my go to when in need of a easy read with delicious heroes.

Roxy and Louis were so cute together. They had fun banter, playful flirting, great chemistry and some hot sexual tension going on. It was refreshing to read about a striving actress heroine and her reasons.

Her friends / room mates and his friends were fun all so different in personalities. I enjoyed all their page time too. They all had me smiling.

Quote-Tastic
1. Louis and his friends talking. After Louis first meeting with Roxy he does not know anything about her but wants too. She was his singing telegram about his penis from his drunken night before with a one night stand. Good fun friend banter.

"Yeah, how’s that conversation going to go?" Russell laughed. "Oh, I know. 'Hey, girl who wrote a song about my dick? I’d like to introduce that dick to another girl. Show a dude some love?"

"You are an actual idiot"

"Both of you, please. Shut up." Louis rubbed a hand over his unshaven jaw.

2. Loved their good chemistry and playful flirting.

"Thank you." She started to leave but turned back. "You're not the only one who’s been thinking about that kiss, you know.”

He trapped a groan in his throat. “I’m standing right here, beautiful. Come get another.”

Again, the green in her eyes disappeared momentarily. “I think you know I’m going to make you work harder than that for it.”

“I’m counting on it.”

She squared her shoulders and faced the reception area. “Bye, Louis.”

“Bye, Roxy.”
