Sins & Needles (The Artists Trilogy #1)
by Karina Halle

I felt his fingers slide down the crack of my rear, and before I could protest or freak out he slipped his hand underneath my pelvis and pulled me up until my ass was in the air.

I could hear him let out a long breath and feel his eyes burning a hole through my skin. I was starting to feel  uncomfortable, afraid that he'd seen the scars on my leg and was becoming turned off, but all my fears were banished when he brought his palm down across my ass. It stung to high heaven.

Holy shit, did Camden just spank me?

There was another hard slap on my other cheek and before I could start worrying whether I was getting  caught up in some wannabe BDSM relationship, I felt his hot, wet lips kiss both of the slap marks.

Thoughts:
Yes he did. Who would of thought Camden had a smidge of kink in him. I am only at 80% into Sins and Needles and so far only one love scene.

Quote-Tastic: Axel by Harper Sloan

Quote-Tastic is a meme hold on Mondays by Herding Casts & Burning Soup.  Join them
every Monday and share a favorite quote that's grabbed ya for one reason or another.

I fell in love with Harper Sloan's writing style and yummy In-Your-Face alpha males but have a sweet side. Axel has many alpha male hotness heroes that are quote-tastic moments that I could not just give one. Axel had it all intensity, sadness, happiness scorching love scenes with a dirty talking hero and even some giggle moments.   Rating 5 stars, review coming soon. Enjoy.

Axel (Corps Security #1)
by Harper Sloan

This is from text messaging back and forth. Axel wants to talk and Izzy does not. Loved that Axel is still an in your face alpha male even in his texts. This had me giggling.

Quote #1
Axel 'Holt': Process? What the hell is there to process? Where are you, Izzy? Not asking you again, and I am not fucking doing this text message shit like a goddamn prepubescent little shit.

The softer and sweet side of Axel

Quote #2
Not one day went by Izzy that my heart didn’t belong to you. To this day there has only been one woman that has and will ever hold it. Fuck, baby but the love I have for you is so fucking strong sometimes, I wonder if it will crush me.”

Before I even met Axel I already fell in love with the secondary characters. The one I fell hard for was Greg Cage. Izzy, Dee and Greg have formed a awesome friendship over the years. His book is next Cage (Corps Security #2) coming in 2014. I need his book like yesterday. I am hooked on Corps Security series with all the alpha male hotness.

Quote #3
"Not dealing with this shit, Iz. We have shit to discuss, and I do not have time to deal with you being depressed. I get it, baby girl, I understand where you are right now but you need to wake up and do it now, you have people worried about you. Dee and me are not going to let you sit here and turn into yourself again, no fucking way." He is spitting each word out as he throws me over his shoulder and walks into the bathroom.

"GREG," I scream, "let me down now!"

"Not going to happen." Was the only reply I got before he dumped me into the shower, twisting the water on and slamming the curtain shut in my stunned, cold and wet face.

Secret (Elemental #4)
by Brigid Kemmerer

Nick Merrick is stretched to the breaking point.

Keep his grades sky-high or he’ll never escape his hometown.
Keep his brother’s business going or the Merricks will be out on the street.
Keep the secret of where he’s going in the evenings from his own twin—-or he’ll lose his family.

Keep his mind off the hot, self-assured dancer who’s supposed to be his “girlfriend’s” partner.

Of course there’s also the homicidal freak Quinn has taken to hanging around, and the Elemental Guide counting the hours until he can try again to kill the Merrick brothers.

There’s a storm coming. From all sides. And then some.

Nick Merrick, can you keep it together?

Thoughts:
Love Nick's cover in the Elemental Series. All the other covers just have the hero, but since Quinn the heroine plays a big role in Nick's story Secret I find his cover with the both of them fitting his story perfect. Brigid Kemmerer Elemental series deals with real life Teenage situations and look forward to see how she does with Nicks little secret. If you read his short novella Breathless #2.5  introducing readers to Nick's secret than you know what it will be about. I look forward to see how deals with his secret and how his family is going to act when they find out.

ARC Review: Being Me by Lisa Renee Jones

Being Me (Inside Out, #2)
Being Me (Inside Out #2)
by Lisa Renee Jones
Publisher: Gallery Books
Purchase Links: Amazon  Barnes & Noble

Blurb by Goodreads

The sexy second installment in the Inside Out erotic romance trilogy, following If I Were You—in the seductive tradition of Fifty Shades of Grey.

Fascinated by the dark fantasies in the journals she’s discovered, and the two men who have now found a place in her life, Sara McMillan finds herself torn between her new life and her past. Now, more than ever, Sara identifies with the lost journal writer, Rebecca, and is certain that something sinister has happened.

In the arms of the sexy, tormented artist Chris Merit, Sara seeks answers about Rebecca and ends up discovering things about herself she never knew existed. Chris forces Sara to reconsider who she is and what she truly wants from life, but not before his dark desires threaten to tear them apart. Her boss, Mark Compton, offers her the shelter to understand just what those needs mean to her, and what they might have meant to Rebecca, but can she trust him to lead her to a final conclusion to Rebecca’s story?

One of the things I loved about Chris and Sara in If I Were You (Inside Out Trilogy #1) was their sexual tension. Have to say was not always feeling it in Being Me. They are a couple now or more less Chris believes she is his and Sara still on the defense side of belonging to anybody.

What I loved about Being Me is the darker side of the sexy sporting tattoo, biker riding, famous artist Chris. Certain events and some of Sara actions have brought the darker side of Chris out. He keeps her at an emotional distance and does not want her a part of his dark life. Only the new life he has created with her. She needs all of him the good and bad.

Sara has a thing about being controlled by others because of her past with an over controlling father.  She can not tell the difference when Chris tries to protect her as she takes it as controlling her. This leaves to a lot of ups and down for them, but unfortunately was not feeling any kind of emotions from them.

Finally got to know what happened to Rebecca, what happened between Mark and Chris that ruined their friendship. Being Me is more on the relationship of ups and downs with Chris and Sara. The mystery part to finding Rebecca was a hit and miss throughout the novel then bang got some answers. Now there is another mystery added as to what happened to her friend.

I look forward to finding out more about Chris and his dark side in Revealing Us.

She swatted him as he pulled her back for another kiss. "Stop that. Oh, God. Please, Seth.

"But you want it," he coaxed, his voice husky and seductive. "I love how you respond. I'd love to open my jeans and slide you down on my cock, right here and now. You could ride me until you come apart. And that would be just the appetizer, sweetheart. Just a teaser, to hold us until we get to the nearest bed. The nearest door that we can close and lock. That's when I'll really give it to you. As much as you want. Hard and fast, or sweet and slow. Whatever you want. All day long.

Reviving Izabel (In the Company of Killers #2)
by J.A. Redmerski

Add To Goodreads

Determined to live a dark life in the company of the assassin who freed her from bondage, Sarai sets out on her own to settle a score with an evil sadist. Unskilled and untrained in the art of killing, the events that unfold leave her hanging precariously on the edge of death when nothing goes as planned. Victor Faust finds her in time enough to help her, but not in time to save those who Sarai has grown to care about.

After what she has done, Sarai’s fear of leading killers to Mrs. Gregory’s doorstep sends her on a path she knows she can never turn back from. She presents Victor with an ultimatum: help her become more like him and give her a fighting chance, or she’ll do it alone no matter the consequences.

Victor, as cold-blooded and seemingly emotionless as always, still has a soft spot for Sarai and knows that he probably always will. He will not let her die if he can help it, so he inevitably agrees to train her. But what Sarai doesn’t know is that her ultimatum has little bearing on his decision. Victor wants to train her. He wants her in his life. And while he struggles with his feelings for her, their complicated relationship heats up and the walls of his caged emotions begin to chip away.

Knowing that Sarai cannot become what she wants to be overnight, Victor teaches her what he can in what little time they have. As Arthur Hamburg’s right-hand man, Willem Stephens, closes in on his crusade to kill Sarai, Sarai is left with the crushing realization that she may have bitten off more than she can chew. But Sarai, taking on the new and improved role of Izabel Seyfried, still has a set of deadly skills of her own that will prove to be all she needs to secure her place beside Victor.

But there is one test that Izabel must face that has the potential to destroy everything she is working so hard to achieve. One final test that will not only make her question her decision to want this dangerous life, but will make her question everything she has come to trust about Victor Faust.

(This book will be released before the end of 2013!)

Hopeless (Hopeless, #1)
...he takes both of my hands in his and interlocks our fingers. "Look at me." I lift my eyes to his trying to hide the disappointment from realizing our mutual attraction is on two different levels. "Sky, I'm not going kissing you tonight but believe when I tell you, I've never wanted to kiss a girl more. So stop thinking I'm not attracted to you because you have no just how much my hair I am. You can hold my hand, you can run your fingers through my hair, you can straddle me while I feed you spaghetti, but you are not getting kiss tonight. And probably not tomorrow, either. I need this. I need to know for sure that you're feeling every single thing that I'm feeling the moment my lips touch yours. Because I want your first to be the best first kiss in the history of first kisses."

Thoughts;
This is where I am at and I want more. OMG I am bummed have to go to work. How I am suppose to work now, when I have the sexy-swoon worthy Holder on my mind.

He crushes his mouth back down to my own and tangles his hand in my thick hair before bringing his other hand slowly down my side. He caresses my heated skin before reaching between us. He pulls his hips back slightly, giving just enough room to take himself in his hand and align his broad head to my core. Rubbing my clit a few times, he dips into my pussy only to travel back out and coat my juices around my pussy lips. He repeats this a few times while I whimper into his mouth, he groans right with me and I know he is as tortured with this slow process as I am.

"Feel so good...so wet, so hot. Can't wait to be deep inside your tight cunt baby." He says into my neck, kissing and sucking the soft skin where my neck meets my shoulder.

Thoughts:
Axel.. you alpha male, dirty talking, sexy as sin who knows how to play in the bedroom.

In A Shade Of Blood, Bella Forrest transports you deeper into a unique, enthralling and beautifully sensitive story. Prepare to be lost in its pages…

When Sofia Claremont was kidnapped to a sunless island, uncharted by any map and ruled by the most powerful vampire coven on the planet, she believed she’d forever be a captive of its dark ruler, Derek Novak.

Now, after months of surviving an endless night, the morning sun may soon rise again for Sofia. Something has possessed Derek’s heart and he offers her a gift no human slave has ever been given in the history of his cursed island: escape.

High school, prom and a chance to move on with her life now await her.

But will she be able to forget the horrors that steal her sleep away at night? … and the feelings that haunt her for that tormented prince of darkness?

Why:
Love the blue color with heroine sitting on the edge of the cliff and the castle is in the background. I like the first novel but this is my favorite. I have book one on my wish list. Read many great reviews.

ARC Review: Beyond Shame by Kit Rocha

Beyond Shame (Beyond, #1)
Beyond Shame (Beyond #1)
by Kit Rocha

Blurb by Goodreads

All Noelle Cunningham has ever wanted is a life beyond–beyond the walls of Eden, where only the righteous are allowed to remain, and beyond her stiflingly restrictive existence as a councilman’s daughter. But only ruins lie outside the City, remnants of a society destroyed by solar storms decades earlier.

The sectors surrounding Eden house the corrupt, the criminal–men like Jasper McCray, bootlegger and cage fighter. Jas clawed his way up from nothing to stand at the right hand of Sector Four’s ruthless leader, and he’ll defend the O’Kane gang with his life. But no fight ever prepared him for the exiled City girl who falls at his feet.

Her innocence is undeniable, but so is their intense sexual attraction, and soon they’re crossing every boundary Noelle barely knew she had. But if she wants to belong to Jas, first she’ll have to open herself to the gang, to a dangerous world of sex, lust and violence. A world where passion is power, and freedom is found in submission.

I loved the world Kit Rocha has built in Beyond Shame but I could not connect with any of the characters. For me there was no sexual tension between Jasper and Noelle. I love a good erotic novel with scorching and kink sex scenes but I was not feeling any attraction between Jasper and Noelle. I love secondary characters but did feel like there was too much going on with all the characters. I was bummed I could not get into Beyond Shame as I loved the blurb and was looking forward to reading something different in erotic romance.

NA Review: Bully by Penelope Douglas

Bully (Fall Away #1)
by Penelope Douglas

Blurb by Goodreads

My name is Tate. He doesn't call me that, though. He would never refer to me so informally, if he referred to me at all. No, he'll barely even speak to me.

But he still won't leave me alone.

We were best friends once. Then he turned on me and made it his mission to ruin my life. I've been humiliated, shut out, and gossiped about all through high school. His pranks and rumors got more sadistic as time wore on, and I made myself sick trying to stay out of his way. I even went to France for a year, just to avoid him.

But I'm done hiding from him now, and there's no way in hell I'll allow him to ruin my senior year. He might not have changed, but I have. It's time to fight back.

I'm not going to let him bully me anymore.

***This novel contains adult/mature young adult situations. It is only suitable for ages 18+ due to language, violence, and sexual situations.

A good friend told me I had to read Bully, but I was unsure about it and she lent it to me. I tend to read novels that the synopsis catches my attention and very rare do I read a novel that I am not sure about. The idea of reading about the hero bullying the heroine did not catch my interest. To my surprise I ended up loving Bully. I enjoyed Penelope Douglas writing voice and the smooth flow of Bully. I had a hard time putting it down and when I did all I kept thinking about was Tate and Jared. I had to know what was his reason for the bullying, if and when the bullying stops would they ever be able to rekindle their friendship. Happy to say all my questions were answered.

Jared is your car racing, tattoo wearing bad boy who has girls eating at the palms of his hands. I am still on the fence if I like him or not. We have a hate/love relationship at the moment. There are times I wanted to beat him over the head but then there times he did have swoon moments. At first his reasoning for bullying Tate was not what I would of thought. There is never a good reason to bully anybody but I was not expecting his reason. Then there also was another reason and it did make more sense as why he did it. The summer he came back from his fathers I had an idea of what happened to him so it was no surprise when he told Tate.

As for Tate loved her character. She took her friends advice when she came back from France to not take Jared, Madoc or anyone else’s bullying. Wow can she throw a mean punch and hold her own. Her new attitude is not over the top and was able to see her break down a few times from Jared’s actions. The more she went head to head with Jared the more she felt like she was becoming a bully as well. She found herself hurting the one person she has ever loved and hated it after. Jared hurt her feelings and broke her heart many times but he never brought her deceased mom or dad in the picture. As for Tate she brought in the worst hurt ever to Jared by bringing in his parents and upbringing. That was not her and she hated the person she was becoming. One minute she would hate Jared but the next she would love him. Her off and on worked well for me as Penelope Douglas did a great job with flashbacks of their happy times as best friends.

Bully reads more like a Mature YA/New Adult novel with the heat factor on the hot to steamy side, with strong language and partying. But it also reads like a YA novel with all the high school drama. As for me the drama worked most times with never really knowing what was going to happen next. Happy I took a chance and read Bully as now I am a new fan of Penelope Douglas.

Jared moved his head from side to side trying to catch my eyes, his lips inches from my face. "If I ever lay my hands on you," he said low and husky, "you'll want it." He brought his lips even closer.

"I want to touch you." His words were against my lips now. "I want to feel what's mine. What's always been mine."

Bully (Fall Away #1)
by Penelope Douglas
New Adult

He released my arms, threading one hand roughly through my hair and the other grabbing my ass. Pulling my hips harder against his, he assautled my mouth like he was starving. He sucked on my bottom lip and then turned his attention to my jaw and neck in hot, frenzied kisses.
