NA Review: Wanderlust by Skye Warren

Can love come from pain?

Evie always dreamed of seeing the world, but her first night at a motel turns into a nightmare. Hunter is a rugged trucker willing to do anything to keep her—including kidnapping. As they cross the country in his rig, Evie plots her escape, but she may find what she's been looking for right beside her.

Wanderlust is a dark erotic novel which explores dubious consent, captivity, and power play. Not intended for those uncomfortable with the subject matter or under eighteen.

After reading the synopsis and great review from Salacious Reads, I had to read Wanderlust. Thank you to Salacious Reads for a new author to me I will be stalking.

Wow! Skye Warren delivered a well written, dark and twisted novel about two broken characters that found love in a twisted way with captivity and dubious consent.

“But life can take us to crazy places. I like to think things turn out for the best, you know? No matter how we get here.” Laura (Hunter’s Friend)

Evie basically being held captive by her mother only then to go out into the world to be captive again by Hunter. Her story truly broke my heart.

“Most of all, I cried because I felt relief to have been captured.”

Evie never felt like she has been wanted until she meets Hunter. She knows that it was perverted and dirty but it was new. He makes her feel alive and through out their journey she finds her courage to do things she thought she would never do.

Hunter has many layers that are peeled away at a great pace. He creped me out in the beginning but once his layers were slowly peeled I found my self liking him. His character is full of surprises I did not see coming. I was in total shock when I found about his past and what he did before he became a trucker.

Wanderlust is a fantastic read that had me on the edge of my seat. I never knew where the story was going. Skye Warren has an amazing writing voice that I felt what the characters were feeling. Make sure you have a day planned with nothing to do because Wanderlust is hard to put down. It is one of those novels that will stick in your head way after it has been read.

  1. I just read Captive in the Dark and was ashamed for loving it so much. Maybe I'll check this one out too, I guess I am a glutton for books that make me cringe & get me hot at the same time. :/
