Seven days. And seven rules to break...

District Attorney Vanessa McGregor firmly believes that structure and order are the stuff that dreams are made of. Happiness can be planned - and it starts with seven rules she's laid out for her future. But as she's organizing her best friend's wedding in Hawaii, all of Vanessa's best-laid plans are about to meet their match in a wickedly hot MMA fighter...

Jackson "Jax" Maris is focused on surfing, training and fighting. That is, until he opens up his big mouth, and finds himself having to pretend he's engaged to his little sister's best friend, Vanessa. When they're force to share a romantic bungalow, however, their little charade suddenly takes a turn for the seriously sexy. And while Jax is definitely not part of Vanessa's long-term plan, he has seven days - and seven naughty nights - to turn her seven-rule plan upside down.

After reading Seducing Cinderella (Fighting For Love #1) by Gina L. Maxwell I could not wait to dive right into Rules Of Entanglement. Another winner in the Fighting For Love series.

Rules Of Entanglement starts out with a little innocent lie from Jackson. Vanessa puts Jackson in his place the first time they meet and he is intrigue by this. He knows once he drops her off at the hotel he will not see her until his sister wedding. Well he can not have that so he comes up with a lie to make sure she has no choice but to spend time with him.

Opposites attract. Wow are Vanessa and Jackson total opposites. Jackson is a sexy tattoo-MMA fighter with a laid back personality. Now in the cage he is all serious but outside he loves to sit back relax, surf a little and enjoy life. Now Vanessa is a Lawyer who comes off a bit stuffy and say’s what she thinks. For her reasons she has these rules when coming into a relationship. Her partners never know these rules, once one is broken it ends. Jackson knows she has rules and little by little he gets her to break them.

Jackson and Vanessa chemistry was hot. Even though they are total opposites they are perfect for each other. Jackson was able to bring out the fun inside of Vanessa that has been buried for so long. Watching her let loose around Jackson was the best, especially the playful scene in the ocean. The sexual tension was perfect that it left me hot and bothered. The sex was steamier than in Seducing Cinderella. A cold shower is needed after Jackson and his dirty talking mouth. Oh my Jackson sure knows how to use that yummy mouth of his in the bedroom. Vanessa knows her way around in the bedroom and has no problems getting Jackson hot and bothered.

The background is in Hawaii and loved finding out why Jackson moved there. He has layers that are slowly but done perfect was peeled away though out the novel. Love how he would use Hawaiian endearments and when found out what one meant, it fit her perfectly. Knew the lie would come to an end but just never knew when it would happen. The descriptive writing is beautiful and well done. I felt like I was there in the hotel, beaches etc.

Of course loving the cover for Rules Of Entanglement as it is “drool worthy”. Waiting patiently for the cover in her next novel. Looking forward to seeing what Gina L. Maxwell has in store for her fans in Fighting Irish (Fighting For Love #3) due out in Fall 2013.

  1. I haven't read the first book yet but I read this one and loved it. I now need to back track to Seducing Cinderella but I've heard it's really good.
