Beauty is more than skin-deep…

Tattoo artist Raven Smith is blunt and hard, broken and jaded, dark and beautiful. While she doesn’t hide her painful past, she does keep a wall around her heart. She’s free sexually—but no one gets to the real Raven beneath the prickly exterior.

With a voice like smoke, Jonah Warner is a smooth-talking, highly successful attorney, with a body that should never be hidden by a suit. He’s the kind of man who never takes no for an answer and always gets what he wants. And what he wants is Raven. She’s a survivor, and he finds that incredibly alluring.

Jonah gets under her skin in a way Raven has never experienced. He makes her break all her rules—including her no-monogamy rule.

But when a figure from Raven’s past shows up at the tattoo parlor and drops a bomb into her life, their relationship will face the ultimate challenge…

Why:

Q: Tell us about the most emotional scene you’ve ever read in a book – and how did you react?

Okay lovelies I can list many and wow it is hard to pick just one, but I will list as of my lastet 3 favorite most emotional scenes in Adult, New Adult and Young Adult.  I can not give exactly what happens away because it will spoil the novel.  These are must read novels.

Answer:

Adult/New Adult
4 stars
Review coming tonight or Sat.

There is a scene towards the end with Ellie and Javier that was a huge suprise I never saw coming and broke my heart. My heart is still broken. Since I believe it is not 100% confirmed or solved I am hoping it was one of those things that everything is not what it seems to be.
New Adult
5 Stars
Review

There are many scenes that broke my heart in Fallen Too Far. When I found out what the secret was that every one knew about Rush and his Sister. I was totally shocked. Never thought it was what it was.

Young Adult
5 Stars

Loved the graveyard scene with Shadow and Samantha. OMG what Shadow did for Samantha was the sweetest thing. I had happy and sad tears. It was a sweet moment but because of what it was about it was also a sad moment. Loved it even more as I never saw it coming.

NA Review: The Wild Ones by M. Leighton

The Wild Ones (The Wild Ones #1)
by M. Leighton

Blurb by Goodreads

**MATURE CONTENT ADVISORY: May not be suitable for younger readers**

Passion as hot as midnight in the South and love as wild as the horses they tame.

Camille “Cami” Hines is the darling daughter of the South’s champion thoroughbred breeder, Jack Hines. She has a pedigree that rivals some of her father’s best horses. Other than feeling a little suffocated at times, Cami thought she was pretty happy with her boyfriend, her life and her future.

But that was before she met Patrick Henley.

“Trick” blurs the lines between what Cami wants and what is expected of her. He’s considered the “help,” which is forbidden fruit as far as her father is concerned, not to mention that Trick would be fired if he ever laid a hand on her. And Trick needs his job. Desperately. His family depends on him.

The heart wants what the heart wants, though, and Trick and Cami are drawn to each other despite the obstacles. At least the ones they know of.

When Trick stumbles upon a note from his father, it triggers a series of revelations that could ruin what he and Cami have worked so hard to overcome. It turns out there’s more to Trick’s presence at the ranch than either of them knew, secrets that could tear them apart.

Loved the Wild Ones and how M. Leighton was able to make alternating POV between the hero and heroine enjoyable. Their POVS blend nicely together continuing the scenes. Never repeating stuff.

I enjoyed how little by little you get the past of Trick and Cami. When their past comes up, it is nicely blended within the scene. Wow. Had a little twist I did not see coming.

They are perfect for each other. I loved how their relationship slowly builds from friendship to lovers. Trick is so swoon worthy on so many levels. I just loved how he put his life and college on hold to take care of his mom and sister.

I can not wait for Rusty and Jenna’s story in The Wild Child (The Wild Ones #2).

YA Review: Storm (Elemental #1) by Brigid Kemmerer

by Brigid Kemmerer
Purhcase Links: Amazon Barnes & Noble
E-book 432 pages

Blurb:
Becca Chandler is suddenly getting all the guys all the ones she doesn't want. Ever since her ex-boyfriend spread those lies about her. Then she saves Chris Merrick from a beating in the school parking lot. Chris is different. Way different: he can control water just like his brothers can control fire, wind, and earth. They're powerful. Dangerous. Marked for death.

And now that she knows the truth, so is Becca.

Secrets are hard to keep when your life's at stake. When Hunter, the mysterious new kid around school, turns up with a talent for being in the wrong place at the right time, Becca thinks she can trust him. But then Hunter goes head-to-head with Chris, and Becca wonders who's hiding the most dangerous truth of all.

The storm is coming.

Storm starts off with a bang and never stops. Even though this a YA paranormal romance the characters are alive, jump off the pages with real life issues that people deal with on a daily basis, just add in some heroes with elemental powers.

Chris the hero is just trying to live a normal teenage life going to school, do the everyday normal teenage stuff, but at the same time keep his elemental power under control. Everything changes when Becca, a girl from his high school saves him from getting his butt kicked to death by two older boys who know what he is and want him to lose control so the others will come and kill him. Because of this, now Becca is part of this war going on with the other boys and this leaves Chris hot and cold. He starts to like her but knows she can not be with him because of her safety. I enjoyed Chris’s character he is the more quite of the brothers.

Now Hunter the mysterious new kid in school is yummy with his tattoo, piercing and Goth, Punk, New age style. He seems to always be there rescuing Becca from the other bad boys and always has his retired police dog, Casper with him outside of school. He shows interest in Becca and can be a bit jealous and protective of her. Loved it when Hunter and Becca are together they are fun and normal. The first time he rescues her from the other bad boys in the pet store she works out is a cute scene that got me all tingly in the stomach. They talk about how he can meet girls by his dog rescuing them.

“Who would, you think?”

“Softball team,” she said without missing a beat “Those chicks are tough.”

He grinned. “Thanks for the tip.” He started to turn for the front of the store, then stopped. “You play softball?”

Becca is a strong will heroine who not only has to deal with her dad coming back into her life after leaving her and her mom, nasty rumors going on in school from a boy who she thought she liked at one time but now they are people trying to hurt her because of the war with the Merrick brothers and the bad boys. She is not your wimpy heroine in distress. She can throw a killer punch.

What I loved most about Storm, is that it’s not just about Chris, Hunter and Becca’s love triangle. There is so much more going on with the Hot Merrick brothers. They all have a their own personality. Gabriel and Nick the twins are the smartasses, more so with Gabriel, who I just adored, loved every scene he is in and look forward to his story. Michael is the serious oldest brother who has so much on his plate. There is a reason he is this way, as he has to protect and care for his younger brothers since the death of their parents. Never a dull moment when the brothers are together, they had me giggling a lot through out the book. Here are some of my giggling moments.

Chris and Gabriel getting in trouble for getting back at the boys that beat up Chris.
“Boo hoo,” said Gabriel. That smile was gone.

Michael glanced over at him. “What were you thinking?” When he didn’t get an answer, he reached over and smacked Gabriel on the back of the head.

Becca asking Nick “You do his homework?”
“Just the math. It’s a miracle he can count to ten.”

“I can count to one.” Gabriel gave him the finger.

Chris needing Nick to get his arm to bleed:
“Nick,” he said. “I think I’m going to need you to bite my arm.”

“I think I’m going to need you to run that by me again.”

As I was reading Storm I kept thinking to my self who is this new kid, what happened to the Merrick brothers parents, what happened to Becca with the boy she liked at one time that started those bad rumors about her, why did her dad leave, what happened to Michael and Emily and why are these older bad boys so desperate to have the others come and kill them. Brigid Kemmerer did a phenomenal job at little by little giving away to details through out the book on everything I wanted to know. She did not leave anything out. Not only did I find out everything I wanted to know, but surprises came that I never saw coming towards the end of the book. Wow! I could not turn my e-reader fast enough, stayed up late as I had to finish to see what was going to happen next. Oh my gosh no one seems to be who I thought they were. The ending was perfect and I am still shocked by the outcome and look forward to continue this series.

I highly recommend Storm as it will have you wanting more with Brigid Kemmerer amazing writing style, sweet romance, kick butt action scenes and definitely the hot Merrick brothers.

If you are new to this series start with Storm. Do not make the mistake I did and started with Elemental (Elemental #05). Elemental will make more sense if read it second.

Swoon: Storm by Brigid Kemmerer

Swoon is a meme featured on Thursdays by YA Bound. From the book you’re currently reading, or one you just finished, tell us what made you SWOON. What got your heart pounding, your skin tingling, and your stomach fluttering.

I seem to always fall for the other hero. In this case it was not Chris that got my attention, but it was Hunter the mysterious new guy in school with his yummy tattoos and piercings. Hunter got my heart pounding, skin tingling and stomach fluttering when ever he was with Becca. Sorry lovelies this is all the swoon you get. You really need to read the book to see what happens next. Awesome series not to be missed with all swoon worthy and HAWT brothers

He did anyway, releasing her wrist so his hands could touch her face. He traced the shape of her eyes, the arch of her cheekbone, the line of her jaw. His touch was light, reverent almost.

Is this okay? he said.

Her traitorous body warmed to his voice, seeking his touch. She opened her eyes. "I'm not broken."

"Liar."

"I'm not." But it sounded halfhearted, even to her.

"I'd be more inclined to believe you"-Hunter's head moved close, until his lips brushed her cheek while he spoke-"if you'd give me a straight answer."

"It's okay." She wet her lips, feeling lighthearted. "It's okay-you touching me."

He traced a thumb across the edge of her mouth, and she felt him smile against her cheek. "Just okay?"

"Why? She said carefully, because teasing felt precarious. "You think you can do better?"

He leaned down and brushed his lips against hers, just for a heartbeat, maybe a moment more....

I love the covers for The Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare. In her newest novel the gown is breathtaking and love how the heroine is holding a book with the bright yellowish light coming out of it. I love the colors together and the blending of the different gadgets and city in the background.

Josh's Justice (Bad In Boots #4) by Patrice Michelle

Josh's Justice (Bad In Boots #4)

Purchase Link: Amazon  Barnes & Noble

Blurb by Patrice Michelle Website

Sabrina Gentry isn’t one to take life lightly. The last thing she would ever do is cut loose, but when her boyfriend breaks up with her, claiming she’s too controlling, she decides to throw out everything she thought she knew about relationships. While on vacation visiting her friend Elise in Texas, she’s gives herself one main rule: The first man who trips your trigger, go for it! No questions, no reservations. The last thing she expected was for the one guy who tripped her trigger to make a pass at her thinking she was someone else. With her new rule in mind, Sabrina sets out to convince Josh Kelly she’s the woman he wants.

Josh Kelly couldn’t believe how much more attracted he was to his married neighbor Elise when he saw her perfectly shaped jean-clad rear from behind. When he discovers the woman he whispered a suggestive comment to wasn’t Elise, but her best friend Sabrina, he’s determined to get to know the woman who could make him lose all common sense.

When a near fatal accident brings Josh and Sabrina together, neither can deny the fierce attraction between them. But the path to love is never a smooth one, and as Sabrina and Josh uncover layers about each other that could tear their passionate relationship apart, danger still lurks, waiting to strike.

Note: Josh’s Justice was originally published as the novella titled Heart’s Afire in the Hearts are Wild anthology. Josh’s Justice has been extensively revised and expanded to novel length.

WARNING: This book contains adult language and very steamy love scenes.

Yay baby! Patrice Michelle has done it again, 5 star novel, Josh’s Justice in her Bad In Boots series. Patrice is a talented writer that even though in Josh Justice the hero and heroine fall in love within 3 days it felt so real. I was so engrossed in the hero/heroine time together did not even realize it is happening within a few days.

OMG! I am crushing on Josh the sexy wearing wrangler Cowboy/Fireman hero. Fell head over heals in love with him right from the beginning. Josh helps on his parents ranch but he is also a fireman. A bad incident that happened when he was a child left him to be a Fireman. Heart wrenching what happened that made him want to be a Fireman. He spends most of his days in the fire station to help him cope with the bad incident, that is until he meets Sabrina. Now he wants to spend time with her. She makes him feel alive.

Sabrina lost her father to a fire he was fighting to put out. She never gotten over it, left her a little bit of a control freak. She just had a relationship ended because she tried to control him. She decides to take a vacation and visit her best friend from college on a ranch, then she decides she is going to live in the moment and not try to control everything around her. Well that is easy until she meets Josh and they have chemistry right from the beginning. But he is a Fireman and her control issues want to come to the surface.

Their chemistry is hot. The sexual tensions got me hot and bothered to many times to count. I have never been so jealous of a character before now. Patrice had me wanting to be Sabrina so bad, especially in the scene with Josh and Sabrina riding a horse together. I loved how Josh was able to keep Sabrina’s control matter under wraps especially in the bedroom. The little BDSM scene is wickedly delicious and written well. It was light and not over the top. The sex scenes will have you needing to take a cold shower and wishing you could find a yummy cowboy for yourself. Josh’s dirty talking mouth had me panting and wanting him all to my self. Not only did I find them sexy in bed but outside of the bedroom too. They are so adorable together and perfect. Loved when they were playful. They way they flirt and tease each other was a joy to read. They do have a few minor bumps but they are not overly drawn out. I could not swipe my kindle fast enough to see what was going to happen next.

Loved how Colt and Elise from Colt’s Choice (Bad In Boots #3) were part of the plot and how they are doing. Loved how the secondary characters are in it just enough that I want to know more. Mace had me giggling with his sexy charm and innocent flirting with Sabrina. I hope he gets his own story soon.

Patrice Michelle is an amazing story teller with a beautiful writing voice. She has the right amount of romance and a bit of mystery. Her novels are a feel good feeling. Josh's Justice is a keeper for me.  Look forward to see who is next up in her Bad In Boots series and can not wait to see the lovely cover.

NA Review: Never Too Far (Too Far #2) by Abbi Glines

Never Too Far (Too Far #2)

He had held a secret that destroyed her world.

Everything she had known was no longer true.

Blaire couldn’t stop loving him but she knew she could never forgive him.
Now, she was back home and learning to live again. Moving on with life… until something happened to send her world spinning once again.
What do you do when the one person you can never trust again is the one that you need to trust so desperately?

You lie, hide, avoid, and pray that your sins never find you out.

Abbi Glines has done it again, 5 star novel with Never Too Far (Too Far #2). Wow I could not believe the twist she threw in there that I never saw coming.

Never Too Far starts off right where Fallen Too Far (Too Far #1) ended. I loved how we got to get into Rush’s head with his POV. His thoughts broke my heart. He was still the same old sexy Tattoo wearing Rush that knows how to use his yummy tongue ring. He has never been in love until he met Blaire. She is back in town and he will do what ever it takes to keep her there. I loved how he was willing to be friends if he could not have her as a girlfriend. But at times it was hard for him to not try and rekindle there relationship.

"She's amazing. No... She's perfect. Everything about her is fucking perfect," I said aloud then shifted my gaze back to Meg. "I don't just lover her, she owns me. Completely. I'd do anything for her."

Now it is Blaire who has a secret and is trying hard to keep it from everyone and Rush. Her secret is revealed early on and is part of the plot. She still is heartbroken from the betrayal from Rush and is trying hard to not give into her feelings for him.

I could not swipe my e-reader fast enough to see if they will ever get their HEA. Their journey is a emotional roller coaster and loved every high and low with them. The sexual tension is hot and the sex scenes are delicious that got my girly bits tingly.

Got to see more of the secondary characters especially the sexy Woods. I loved his friendship with Blaire and loved it more when Rush would get jealous. Yay baby his story is next.

I am loving the Too Far series. The characters are fun and real. I was right there with them laughing and crying. I love how Abbi Glines deals with real issues and makes it that the characters thoughts and feelings are real. I am noticing in the New Adult genre authors are having that format and usually a secret or a big twist thrown in. It has to be done right and Abbi Glines has nailed it again in Never Too Far. Never Too Far is keeper, look forward to reading Fallen Too Far (Too Far #1) and Never Too Far (Too Far #2) back to back. I can not wait to see what she has in store for us with Woods in Twisted Perfection (Too Far #3).
