Sometimes You Mate For Life

Katie Smith is the best of her class, part of an elite hunting force trained to eliminate werewolves from the hills of Western Virginia. She's good at it because she has the kind of focus and drive that won't back down no matter how steep the odds. Call it southern sass. Whatever it is, there's no denying her willingness to risk everything for the only man she's ever cared about--a man on the verge of losing his very humanity. . .

Sometimes You Mate To Stay Alive

For the past ten years Jordan Pride has dedicated his life to protecting his people from a deadly shifter virus. But in a rare moment of distraction, Jordan's guard drops just long enough for his fate to take an irreversible twist. Unless the woman he loves surrenders everything to him, again and again, under a full moon rising. . .

I fell in love with Jordan and Katie in the beginning with Fated. Through out the series got just enough info on just knowing they are going to have their own story. Wow loved every moment of it with a sexy Alpha Male Shifter and a sexy kick butt heroine.

Consumed takes place 10 years ahead of the last novel Hunted. I enjoyed how Rebecca has skipped some years especially since now Janie, Zane and Kalin are adults.

In Hunted Rebecca gave just a little bit of info on how Jordan and Katie met. Consumed starts off with the Prologue of the back story of how they met. Loved how it started this way, sweet and a bit sad. Also got to learn how she got her nickname Kitten.

Jordan is a sworn worthy, alpha male hero who has protected and gave Katie a home since she was like 6 years old. He is the Alpha male of his pack of lion shifters but has never let anybody in. He is kind of a loner. Since Katie has grown up he has been having feelings for her, but does not think it is right because he basically helped raised her. Sometimes his actions from his broodiness leaves for some ups and downs with them.

Katie I adore her strong will character and goes after what she wants. What she wants is Jordan and makes it very clear. His life is in danger of a virus and she will do what ever it takes to save him, even make him mate with her. She knows deep in her heart that Jordan has strong feelings for her. She finds ways to get into his heart and makes him realize he needs to love and have people love him. Poor Katie my heart did break a few times because Jordan is a very stubborn hero and sometimes things he said were not what he really wanted. But for Katie to hear it from the one and only person she has loved it hurts.

The chemistry was sweet and hot. The sexual tension was the best. Just enough that I could not wait for them to get together and when they do WOW it is steamy. I enjoyed the journey of their ups and downs and how they can get their HEA. They had some heartbreaking, happy and made me giggle moments. I am happy I did not have to wait for tons of novels before to get to their story. It was just enough books before and teasers to make their story perfect.

As always Rebecca has yummy secondary characters and in Consumed we got to see more of Maggie. Loved her friendship with Katie. Got just enough teasing with Maggie and Terrent to know they will have their own story. Look forward to their novella coming out June 2013. Really wish it was full length, not complaining Rebecca, I will take what ever I can get on them. The teasing amount that was in Consumed they are for sure not done, Maggie was a bad wolf, but for good reasons.

“I’ll consider myself lucky, then.”

His smile almost caused another panic attack. “Oh, this is just a short reprieve, little wolf. We’re nowhere near done.”

Kane’s book is next in Provoked and curious on how his story will be. He is the quiet of the bunch mostly fighting and in the lab. So far the series just gets better and better.

I have to give big Thank You over at TBQ’s Book Palace for having this series on her Lusting For Covers Meme. This book was listed Free and I downloaded and read ASAP. As for the novel it is a Prequel to Twice Tempted (Holland Springs) with Christian who to others goes by Ian and Zoe who used the name Amber under disguise and how they met. I enjoyed their first meeting and their one night of steamy...Have-to-take-a-cold-shower-after sex. Wow Christian knows how to play in the bedroom. I loved how he was able to wake up and knew where he was, what he did that night and not hung over from drugs. I did enjoy the writing style but while coming to the end I was a little confused. I understand this is a prequel and really it depends on you if would want to read it before or after. I was fine reading it before but I had already read the synopsis for Twice Tempted and it say’s that he “left her stranded that night”. So when I got to the end it did not play out that way. He was getting dressed up and is ready to buy her flowers, jewelry etc. for their lunch date. He seemed to be head over heals fallen for her. I had to go back to reread because I felt I must of missed something but nope. I would of given it 2 stars but went with 3 stars because I enjoy the writing style and really hope that in Twice Tempted it will give me back story on when he supposedly left her.

Why:
This lovely cover caught my attention at Barnes and Noble yesterday. Seriously a tattooed Scottish hero....Yummy! I love the different blends with the house, archway and heroine eyes in the background. This sounds good and had more 4 and 5 star reviews. Adding it to my Must Get TBR list.

Review: Eternal Rider by Larissa Ione

Eternal Rider (Lords of Deliverance #1)
by Larissa Ione
Purchase Links: Amazon Barnes & Noble

Blurb by Goodreads
His name is Ares, and the fate of mankind rests on his powerful shoulders. If he falls to the forces of evil, the world falls too. As one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, he is far stronger than any mortal, but even he cannot fight his destiny forever. Not when his own brother plots against him.

Yet there is one last hope. Gifted in a way other humans can't-or won't-understand, Cara Thornhart is the key to both this Horseman's safety and his doom. But involving Cara will prove treacherous, even beyond the maddening, dangerous desire that seizes them the moment they meet. For staving off eternal darkness could have a staggering cost: Cara's life.

Eternal Rider is the 1st book in Larissa Ione’s Lords of Deliverance series and is a spin off of the Demonica series. Starts off a bit slow but once it picks up it is hard to put down with lots of action, some good twist and turns. I thought Ares and Cara are a perfect match, both strong will characters. Their chemistry was hot right from the beginning and enjoyed every minute they were with each other. It was nice having the characters from the Demonica series in it and they never took away from the storyline. Just added to it. It was refreshing to read a different kind of Paranormal romance with the Four Horsemen. Larissa Ione is a amazing storyteller in Paranormal romance. All her characters have their own personalities and jump off the pages. Eternal Rider is a keeper for me.

YA Review: Taste by Kate Evangelista

Taste
by

Kate Evangelista debut novel Taste blew me away. It has everything I love in YA Paranormal Romance novel, a swoon worthy hero, hot chemistry between the hero and heroine, a feisty, kick butt heroine and beautiful world descriptions. Kate Evangelista has an amazing writing voice and is a master at storytelling. There are so many twist and turns that you never see what is coming next.

Demitri has been preparing to be king all his life but all he really wants to do is travel the world. He is torn between duty and love as he does not want Phoenix in his world. He thinks his world is too dangerous for her and is protective, plus he is a tad bit jealous when ever Luka is around her.

Luka is mysterious and hot. He is arrogant and never takes reasonability. He shuts everyone out and hides behind his arrogance. Slowly you get bits and pieces of why he is this way. The first time he meets Phoenix, he had me wanting more of him ASAP and I could not wait to read how he plays a roll in Taste.

I get all tingly in my stomach when a hero will hold his gaze on the heroine while talking to another person.

“Human,” he whispered.

He reached out, and with a finger, followed an invisible trail down my cheek. I stiffened. His touch, cooler than Demitri’s, caused warm sparks to blossom on my face. He lifted his finger to his lips and licked it’s tip. He might as well have licked me from the way my body shivered.

Luka’s curious gaze held mine. “Leave us,” he said, but not to me.

Luka is drawn to Phoenix as she is the first person to catch his interest in years. He has a nickname for Phoenix it is Villyat. In his language it means little cat. Why? Because she is too curious for her own good. Just like a little cat. He is always in her personal space touching her cheek, grabbing her waist etc..

Phoenix is amazing. I do feel bad for her as she lost her mother and her father keeps her at arms length. She is a strong girl who has gone through a lot, is very curious and this gets her caught up in a world full of Flesh Eaters.

The bad guys a for sure bad. You can feel the creepiness when they are in a room. Phoenix can hold her own around them, she is for sure a smart mouthed.

"I’ll give you the choice. Where do you want the bite?"

“You can bite my a---”

I am torn between Demitri and Luka. They are both hot and swoon worthy. When Phoenix is with Demitri, I want her with him but then when she is with Luka I want her with him. When she is with Demitri it is more serious, but when she is with Luka it is more playful.

I enjoyed the secondary characters. It was nice as they did not take away from the plot. Just added more to it.

Ending was perfect. I only wish it was a series, I would of loved a cliffhanger and got to read more books with Phoenix, Demitri and Luka. I did not want their story to end. Only downfall I had was I wanted to devoured this book in a few days but was painting and had to read little by little. Taste is perfect and a keeper for me, I will be reading over and over again. Kate Evangelista is definitely an author to check out and I will buy anything she writes. I highly recommend Taste for all YA Paranormal Romance fans.
